🌍 Basic Concepts in Biogeography 🌿

Biogeography studies the distribution of plants, animals, and ecosystems on Earth. Understanding its basic concepts helps us know how life exists and survives in different environments.

🔹 Biosphere
The narrow zone of Earth where life exists — including land, water, and air.

🔹 Habitat
The natural home or environment of an organism where it lives and grows.

🔹 Niche
The specific role or function of an organism in an ecosystem.

🔹 Ecosystem
A system formed by the interaction of living organisms with their physical environment.

🔹 Biome
A large natural region with similar climate, vegetation, and wildlife, such as desert, forest, or tundra.

📌 In simple words:
Biogeography explains “where life exists” and “why it exists there”.

Farewell Ceremony at German University Bangladesh

On 08 May 2026, the Department of Environmental Science and Technology (EST), German University Bangladesh (GUB) organized a heartfelt Farewell Ceremony for the final semester students of Winter Semester 2025, held at Room 304 of the university.

The event featured warm interactions, where faculty members honored graduating students with crests and mementos as tokens of appreciation and best wishes. A special cake marked the occasion, also celebrating a combined Farewell & Freshers Reception spirit, bringing together outgoing students, new entrants, teachers, and peers. Speeches were delivered from the podium, recalling academic journeys and encouraging graduates to excel in their future endeavors. The venue was decorated with balloons, university banners, and branded souvenirs like custom mugs, creating a festive and emotional atmosphere to bid adieu to the departing batch.
