CTF Fundamentals: A Hands-On Introduction to Web Exploitation

The UFTB Cyber Security Club is proud to have been part of the successful organization of “CTF Fundamentals: A Hands-On Introduction to Web Exploitation”, a hands-on workshop dedicated to web exploitation, offensive security and Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges.

With the participation of 50+ students at the Cyber Security Lab, CySE-3001, the workshop provided an engaging opportunity to explore practical cybersecurity concepts and ethical hacking techniques.

We were honoured to welcome Prof. Dr. Md. Moktar Ali, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of UFTB, as the Chief Guest. Special appreciation goes to our instructors, Saif Abdullah Khan and Parvez Mosharaf Siam from Knight Squad Academy, for sharing their valuable knowledge and practical expertise.

Our sincere gratitude to Knight Squad Academy for their support and collaboration, the Department of Cyber Security Engineering for its initiative and guidance and the Cyber Intelligence Innovation and Research Lab for its technical partnership.

This workshop marks another step towards building a stronger cybersecurity community and inspiring future security professionals through hands-on learning.

From Curiosity to Capability: A Step into Ethical Hacking

The UFTB Cyber Security Club proudly hosted “First Line of Hacking: Hands-On Cyber & CTF Essentials”, an engaging and knowledge-driven session designed to introduce participants to the practical world of ethical hacking and Capture the Flag challenges.

We were honoured by the presence of Prof. Dr. Moktar Ali, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh as the Chief Guest and Md. Rashedul Alam, Lecturer, Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University as the Keynote Speaker.

As a gesture of appreciation, the Department of Cyber Security Engineering presented an Ethical Hacking book to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor and a gift hamper to the Keynote Speaker.

The session marked a valuable step towards building practical cybersecurity skills and inspiring the next generation of ethical hackers.

Webinar on “Problem Solving, Data Structure & Algorithm” Successfully Conducted

The Department of Cyber Security Engineering, UFTB, in partnership with the Cyber Security Club and the Cyber Intelligence Innovation and Research Lab, hosted the webinar “Problem Solving, Data Structure & Algorithm” on 27th January 2026 via Zoom.

The session was conducted by Md. Ashikujjaman Nur, a Codeforces Expert (handle: ashiknur) and Champion of Techfest IIT Bombay Bangladesh Zonal 2024, DU Robotronics Line Following Robot 2025, and Micromouse 2025.

During the webinar, the speaker primarily focused on how to approach competitive programming problems, how to effectively use Codeforces, and which aspects to analyze before solving a problem. He explained problem-solving techniques, including how to efficiently understand problem statements and break problems into smaller, logical steps.

Special emphasis was given to time complexity and Memory Usage, where the instructor demonstrated how to analyze constraints and choose optimal algorithms accordingly. Several live problem-solving demonstrations (3–4 problems) were conducted, helping participants understand real-time thinking processes and implementation strategies.

Additionally, the speaker shared valuable resources, including guidelines on what to practice, step-by-step instructions on improving problem-solving skills, and strategies for staying consistent in competitive programming. Practical tips on contest participation and a learning roadmap were also discussed.

Students participated enthusiastically in the webinar, creating an interactive and engaging learning environment.

This initiative reflects the continuous effort of the Department of Cyber Security Engineering and associated technical bodies to enhance students’ analytical thinking, algorithmic skills, and preparedness for competitive programming and technical careers.
