কারণ: ইলেকট্রন উচ্চ শক্তিস্তর থেকে নিম্ন শক্তিস্তরে ফিরে আসার সময় নির্দিষ্ট পরিমাণ শক্তি আলো হিসেবে নির্গত করে।
ফলাফল: এই আলো প্রিজমের মধ্য দিয়ে গেলে বিচ্ছিন্ন উজ্জ্বল রেখার একটি সেট বা বর্ণালী তৈরি হয়।

লাইম্যান সিরিজ: ইলেকট্রন n=1 স্তরে ফিরলে (অতিবেগুনী অঞ্চল)।

বিজ্ঞান সম্পর্কে কিছু মজার তথ্য নিচে দেওয়া হলো:
মহাকাশে কোন শব্দ নেই: মহাকাশে শব্দ তরঙ্গ ভ্রমণ করতে পারে না কারণ সেখানে কোন মাধ্যম (যেমন বায়ু) নেই।
আলোর গতি: আলো এক সেকেন্ডে প্রায় ৩ লক্ষ কিলোমিটার ভ্রমণ করে। এই গতিতে আলো এক সেকেন্ডে পৃথিবীর চারপাশে ৭ বারের বেশি প্রদক্ষিণ করতে পারে।
সূর্য আসলে হলুদ নয়: যদিও আমরা সূর্যকে হলুদ দেখি, এটি আসলে সাদা। পৃথিবীর বায়ুমণ্ডলের কারণে এটি হলুদ দেখায়।
জল তিন অবস্থায় থাকতে পারে: জল কঠিন (বরফ), তরল (জল), এবং গ্যাসীয় (জলীয় বাষ্প) - এই তিনটি অবস্থায় থাকতে পারে।

নামকরণ পদ্ধতির কিছু ধাপ
দীর্ঘতম কার্বন শিকল: প্রথমে, যৌগের মধ্যে থাকা দীর্ঘতম কার্বন শিকলটিকে মূল শিকল হিসেবে নির্বাচন করতে হয়।
কার্যকরী মূলক: যদি কোনো কার্যকরী মূলক থাকে, তবে সেটি থেকে কার্বন শিকলের নামকরণ শুরু করতে হয় যাতে কার্যকরী মূলকটি সর্বনিম্ন সংখ্যা পায়।
নামের বিন্যাস: নাম লেখার সময় উপসর্গগুলো (যদি থাকে) এবং প্রত্যয়গুলো মূল শব্দের সাথে যুক্ত করে লেখা হয়।

মূল শব্দ: ইথ (২টি কার্বন)
