We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued warm support and understanding toward the operation of our organization.
Since its establishment in 1994, the "Sakura Family Home," operated by our foundation, has provided underprivileged children in Bangladesh with a warm, family-like environment and educational opportunities, thanks to the generous support and kindness of our supporters. However, we regret to inform you that after 31 years of activity, the home officially closed its doors at the end of June 2025.
In recent years, the number of members supporting our activities in Japan has declined, resulting in a significant drop in revenue from membership fees and donations, which now accounts for only about one-quarter of the operating costs. Despite our utmost efforts to sustain the facility and ensure the well-being of the children, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain stable operations, and we were ultimately faced with the difficult decision to close the home.
We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all those who have supported and cooperated with us in the operation of this orphanage for disadvantaged children in Bangladesh over the years.
Looking ahead, we aim to establish a "Training Center" tailored to local needs, where we will provide education and vocational training to help underprivileged youth become self-reliant and contribute to society.
We kindly ask for your continued understanding and support for the Japan-Bangladesh Cooperation Foundation as we take this new step forward.
