Artistic Accord 1.0 - Pohela Boishakh edition, the dawn of a new legacy where participants tried to capture the vibrant spirit of Bangla Noboborsho into posters and creative writing. Participants have blended colors on a canvas and searched for the perfect word in the silence. And to honor their journey of grace, HSTU Model United Nations Association chose the sacred first day of the Bengali New Year to crown its visionaries.

The journey towards home for Eid and the path we tread again to continue our regular life after the celebration ends were meant to be special and full of excitement, but the tragic road accidents have turned that celebration into a deadly nightmare.

Bangladesh’s Road Safety Foundation reported more than 200 deaths during the just-concluded Eid holidays. We may conclude these statistics have become normal due to the lack of road safety in our country but some incidents left a dark scar in our minds. On 18 March, over 100 people were injured as Nilsagar Express derailed near Bogura. In another incident, a train rammed into a bus, killing 12. And the most tragic one happened on 25th March, where a bus full of passengers drowned in Daulatdia. The list doesn't end here, 5 people were found dead in a car-bus collision in Cumilla and 19 people were injured as a bus overturned in Rangamati. Our hearts are heavy as we remember those people whose vibrant dreams were crushed before they could even reach their doorsteps. Such a devastating loss of life should never occur, and we demand that the authorities take immediate, rigorous steps to ensure safety and prevent such a tragedy from ever recurring.

HSTU Model United Nations Association extends its deepest condolences to the grieving families. May the lost souls find eternal peace, and may their loved ones find the strength to endure this unimaginable sorrow.

26 March, 2026— 55th Independence Day of Bangladesh

Today, we celebrate the freedom of our beloved country with pride and gratitude. But somewhere in the middle of that pride, there is also a quiet sadness.

After so many years of independence, it still hurts to see how often our people suffer— through loss, through pain, through everyday struggles that should not feel so normal. Sometimes it feels like we have earned freedom, but are still waiting for the peace, safety, care, and responsibility that should come with it.

Still, we hold on to hope. Hope that one day our country will heal from all that holds it back, and rise into the kind of future our martyrs truly dreamed of. Maybe then, we will feel the full meaning of independence.

Happy Independence Day.

The crescent moon has arrived, marking the end of a month of devotion, discipline and growth. From the time of the Prophet Muhammad, Eid ul-Fitr has stood as a symbol of unity, compassion, and gratitude. It reminds us not only of spiritual renewal but also of our responsibility to share joy with others through kindness and charity.

Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 185 (2:185), establishes Ramadan as the month of the Quran's revelation, acting as a guide and criterion. As beautifully said: “Take a day to celebrate, you deserve it after a month of patience and devotion.” And also a timeless reflection, “The true joy of Eid lies not in new clothes, but in a pure heart.”

HSTU Model United Nations Association extends the warmest wishes to you and your close ones on this eid. May this Eid open the door to new hopes, endless blessings, and lasting happiness. Let us also remember those who are struggling and keep them in our prayers.
