Most of us have a hospital phobia.
Those terrifying injections, repulsive medicines and serious looking doctors and nurses, make a hospital, an even more ‘difficult to love places’. The uncertainties regarding our health conditions, what will the reports say, how serious is it, how long do I have to be in a bed, etc, turns a hospital into a nightmare. Many will agree that a mere visit to one is quite repulsive.
All that changed with one visit.
Thanks to Dr Arnab Gupta and his team. He allowed us to organise a ‘Fun with Science’ session inside the paediatric ward of Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute, Thakurpukur.
The children admitted there had a blast by making toys and playing with them. The ward was filled with papers, string, colours, excitement and laughter. Nothing could be more satisfying than watching the children having fun with science.
A hospital visited with a purpose made all the difference.
