From The Last Answer to The Last Question.
In Season 1, we explored The Last Answer by Isaac Asimov, where Murray searched endlessly for the ultimate truth, chasing an answer beyond the limits of human understanding.
Most who participated in Season 1 avowed that the story made them rethink and aroused their intellectual curiosity.
Let us know in the comments what you think about the last answer in the comment.
Now, normally, the question comes first, and the answer follows.
But the universe has never been very good at following our preferred order of events.
Sometimes the answer arrives before we even know what we were asking. (The actual reason may be less philosophical than this: I simply loved The Last Question more and wanted to save it for the next season)

I don’t want to say too much about the story yet.
Because some stories are better experienced than explained.
But this time, we are going much further beyond individual existence, beyond civilizations, beyond the limits of human intelligence.
A story about entropy.
A story about humanity reaching the edge of our boundaries.
A story about intelligence, time, and the question that remains when everything else has been answered.

The biggest questions about the universe itself… And will we ever find the answer?

The selection round tasks of BCWO Season 2 will be inspired by this story.
We will publish the tasks on our website in the first week of November, and submissions will open shortly after.
Until then, I highly recommend reading The Last Question by Isaac Asimov.
If you cannot find the story, just send us a DM. We will share the PDF with you.

Now, I gotta hurry to figure out how to reverse entropy.

Welcome to the BCWO Founding Ambassador Program.

We're delighted to introduce Mehria Binte Nahid ( themoulycule ) as one of the Founding Ambassadors of the Bangladesh Creative Writing Olympiad.

At BCWO, we believe communities are built by people who care deeply about ideas, creativity, and helping others find their voice. Mehria joins a select group of ambassadors who will help us reach new writers, build meaningful connections, and shape the culture of BCWO from the very beginning.

Thank you for becoming part of this journey.

Welcome aboard, Mehria. We're excited to see what we'll build together.

Bangladesh Creative Writing Olympiad is a literary space built on one conviction, that boldness matters more than correctness, and that a writer who tells the truth imperfectly is worth more than one who tells a lie beautifully.
We merge creative writing with philosophy, existential inquiry, psychology, science, and literature.
In a country where open expression carries a social cost, we want BCWO to be the exception. The one place where your unfiltered thought is not a liability.
Season 1 is where it begins.
Every writer who participates in Season 1 is not just a participant. They are a founding member of something that intends to last.
Our winners, judges, and ambassadors do not leave after the results are announced. They stay. They shape Season 2. They become the team. No single person is running BCWO; every writer who passes through this space is part of what it becomes.
The writers who receive accolades this season will be invited to lead Season 2 as official team members. The community we build now is the foundation on which everything else stands on.
This is the best time to join, because you will not just be participating in BCWO. You will be building it.
We will publish every single essay submitted in the Final Round, all 80 of them. Not just the winners. Every voice. So future participants can read what boldness looks like at every level. So readers can judge for themselves. So no writer walks away invisible.

A Note On Freedom
BCWO has an AI policy, a plagiarism policy, and a few rules that exist for fairness. But,
Everything else, structure, style, tone, form, convention, is yours to break if breaking it serves the writing. We have never believed that good writing looks a particular way. We believe good writing feels a particular way.
Write as it matters. Because to us, it does.
