In Rangpur, a 9-year-old schoolboy named Al Amin has taken on the responsibility of supporting his sick grandparents financially. While he attends school during the day, he spends his evenings selling popcorn in busy parts of the city, earning about Tk 180–200 daily, which he uses to buy food and medicine for the household.

After losing his father and being abandoned by his mother, he now lives with his grandparents in an unused railway room. Both grandparents are too ill to work, leaving Al Amin as the only source of income.

He explains that even missing a single day of work means they have no food to eat. Despite the difficult circumstances, he continues to smile faintly and remains committed to his studies. After long, tiring nights of work, he still makes time to study, holding onto his hope for a better future.

রংপুরের ৯ বছরের স্কুলছাত্র আল আমিন তার অসুস্থ দাদা-দাদির ভরণপোষণের পুরো দায়িত্ব নিজের কাঁধে তুলে নিয়েছে। দিনে সে স্কুলে যায়, আর বিকেলে শহরের ব্যস্ত এলাকায় পপকর্ন বিক্রি করে প্রতিদিন প্রায় ১৮০–২০০ টাকা আয় করে, যা দিয়ে পরিবারের খাবার ও ওষুধের খরচ মেটানো হয়।

বাবাকে হারানোর পর এবং মায়ের স্নেহ থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়ে সে এখন দাদা-দাদির সঙ্গে একটি পরিত্যক্ত রেলওয়ে ঘরে বসবাস করছে। তার দাদা-দাদি দুজনেই শারীরিকভাবে অসুস্থ হওয়ায় কাজ করতে পারেন না, ফলে পরিবারের একমাত্র আয়ের উৎস হয়ে উঠেছে আল আমিন।

সে জানায়, কোনো একদিন কাজ না করলে তাদের ঘরে খাবার জোটে না। এত কষ্টের মধ্যেও তার মুখে একটুখানি হাসি থাকে, আর সব ক্লান্তি উপেক্ষা করে রাতের বেলায় পড়াশোনা চালিয়ে যায়। ভবিষ্যতে নিজের পায়ে দাঁড়ানোর স্বপ্ন নিয়ে সে এগিয়ে যেতে চায়।
