Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation (BWF) started weightlifting championships in Bangladesh since 1972 under the newly established BWF in the same year.

This federation was affiliated with the AWF and IWF since 1972 Weightlifting Sports is prevalent all over the world. According to the sports historian, this sport was commenced in Greece in 640 AD. It was included in the Olympic Games in 1896. However, the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) was established in 1905. On the other hand, Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation (BWF) started weig

htlifting championships in Bangladesh since 1972 under the newly established BWF in the same year. This federation was affiliated with the AWF and IWF since 1972. Currently, 187 countries are affiliated with the IWF.
