We successfully wrapped up the GSI Dialogue Series EP-1! 🎉

Hosted by the Governance and Security Initiative (GSI), this webinar brought together incredible minds to discuss shaping proactive AI policies and advancing cybersecurity in Bangladesh.

Our youthful and dynamic team delivered insightful presentations on crucial topics: women's digital safety, navigating global AI regulatory frameworks, and the ethical everyday use of AI tools. We had fantastic discussions on the urgent need for cross-ministerial cooperation and the importance of shifting our national approach from reactive to proactive digital governance.

We are also incredibly proud that our event started and ended perfectly on time—setting a strong standard for punctuality in our future seminars! ⏱️

What's next? To keep this vital conversation going, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our new GSI podcast series! This platform will allow us to bridge the gap between civil society actors, impacted individuals, and government officials to shape evidence-based AI regulations.

🚨 Tech Meets Tradition on the Habiganj Frontier 🇧🇩🛡️

The Bangladesh Border Guard’s (BGB) 55th Battalion has officially deployed a cutting-edge "Drone Shield" to secure the 103-kilometre Habiganj border.

🚁 The Tech: Equipped with advanced thermal imaging and night-vision capabilities, these drones can detect movement in near-zero visibility. This massive technological leap supplements round-the-clock ground patrols to counter recent cross-border push-in threats.

🤝 The Community: Beyond the hardware, this initiative pioneers a "hybrid security architecture." High-tech aerial patrols are seamlessly integrated with grassroots, community-led intelligence from local residents, Ansar-VDP volunteers, and village police. Through night-time loudspeaker campaigns and yard meetings, locals are active participants in border monitoring.

With the battalion on its highest level of alert, BGB-55 Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Md. Tanzilur Rahman confirmed that zero infiltrations have been recorded to date, emphasizing that there will be no compromise when it comes to protecting the country's sovereignty.

Thanks to this dual-layered approach of surveillance and public engagement, residents are expressing renewed confidence in their safety. Day and night, the frontier is secure.
