Savar YMCA successfully organized its 19th Annual General Meeting 2026 (AGM) today, 15 May 2026, at 10:00 AM at BCR Centre, East Rajashon, Savar, Dhaka, in a joyful and dignified atmosphere with the participation of distinguished guests, Executive Board Members, members, youth leaders, volunteers, and well-wishers.

The program officially commenced with the National Anthem and flag hoisting conducted by the honorable guests, followed by the opening prayer and a beautiful opening dance performance which added spiritual and cultural significance to the event.

The AGM was graced by Mr. Shamol Gomes, President of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Shekhor Gilbert Purification, President of Savar YMCA.

The AGM was also graced by the presence of distinguished Special guests including Mr. Nirmol Rozario, President of Bangladesh Christian Association; Mr. Manik Willver D Costa, National General Secretary, National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh; Mr. Bappy Drasias Gomes, Honorary Treasurer, National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh; Mr. Michael Jhon Gomes, President, The Christian Co-Operative Credit Union Ltd., Dhaka; Mr. Augustine Pratap Gomes, Chairman, The Metropolitan Christian Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd.; Mr. Tapan Thomas Rozario, Former President, Savar YMCA; Mr. Lintas Rock Rozario, Secretary, Bangladesh Christian Religious Welfare Trust; Mr. Riply Denis Cruse, Vice-President, Dharenda Christian Co-Operative Credit Union Ltd.; and Mr. Jewel Cyril Costa, Secretary, Dharenda Mission Parish Council.

All the honorable guests delivered inspiring and valuable speeches highlighting leadership, unity, youth empowerment, community development, and the important role of YMCA in serving society. Their encouraging words greatly motivated the participants and strengthened the vision and mission of Savar YMCA.

The meeting concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Sheuly Maria Cruze, Vice-President of Savar YMCA, who expressed sincere gratitude to all guests, Executive Board Members, members, youth leaders, volunteers, and supporters for their dedication and contributions in making the 19th Annual General Meeting a grand success.

Today, 15 May 2026, the Savar Young Men’s Christian Association (Savar YMCA) proudly organized a Felicitation Program in honor of Mr. Shamol Gomes, Newly Elected President of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh, and Mr. Bappy Drasias Gomes, Newly Elected Honorary Treasurer of the National Council of YMCAs of Bangladesh.

The program commenced with warm floral greetings, joyful band party music, and a colorful rally, creating an atmosphere of celebration and unity. Distinguished guests, Executive Board Members of Savar YMCA, members, leaders, and well-wishers enthusiastically participated in welcoming the honored guests.

As a token of love, appreciation, and congratulations, Savar YMCA presented honorary crests to Mr. Shamol Gomes and Mr. Bappy Drasias Gomes for their outstanding leadership and achievement in being elected to these prestigious national positions.
