| 2025 Year in Review đđą
2025 has been a landmark year for YouthNet Global, marked by innovative programs, youth empowerment, and bold action on climate, environment, nature, and social justice. Our efforts this year have focused on building knowledge, leadership, and active participation among young people across Bangladesh, with a strong emphasis on climate action, environmental stewardship, nature conservation, and sustainable development.
One of the yearâs highlights was the successful completion of Eco Olympiad 2025 (Season 1), designed to raise environmental and climate awareness while actively engaging students. In its inaugural season, the Olympiad reached around 7,000 students from 20 educational institutions across two districts of the Barishal Division, Jhalokathi and Barishal. Each district saw six outstanding winners, who were recognized with certificates, trophies, and exciting prizes, celebrating their budding leadership in environmental protection and nature conservation.
The program was led by our dedicated team, including Arifur Rahman Shuvo, Secretary of YouthNet Global, as Advisor, and Sajid Mahmud, District Coordinator (Jhalokathi), as Convener. The initiative was made possible through collaboration with the Department of Environment, district education offices, district and upazila administrations, and a network of committed partners and volunteers.
Beyond Eco Olympiad, 2025 saw YouthNet Global deepen its engagement in climate justice, just transition, youth-led environmental initiatives, and nature conservation. Our work included workshops, community programs, and advocacy campaigns aimed at empowering young people to act as agents of change in the fight against climate change, environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity, and social inequities.
Despite challenges and resource constraints, our teams have demonstrated vision, dedication, and resilience, ensuring that programs reached the youth and communities who need them most. Each initiative reinforced our mission: âPreparing Todayâs Youth to Protect Tomorrowâs Planet.â
Looking ahead, YouthNet Global is committed to scaling up its programs, reaching more youth across Bangladesh, and driving impactful climate action, environmental stewardship, nature conservation, and sustainable development initiatives in the coming years.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participating students, partner institutions, government collaborators, and supporters who made 2025 a year of meaningful engagement, learning, and environmental action.
Hereâs to a greener, cleaner, and more just future powered by youth and rooted in nature.
