More Than a Kitchen — A New Opportunity for Women. 💙

On 23 July 2026, Society for Participatory Action and Reflection (SPAR), with support from the Australian High Commission, Dhaka, through the Direct Aid Program (DAP), officially launched the Urban Community Kitchens for Women’s Economic Empowerment and Social Inclusion project in Dhaka.

This 12-month initiative is designed to help women turn their culinary skills into income, confidence, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. 🌱

Through the project:
✨ 60 women will receive training in culinary skills, food processing, food safety, entrepreneurship and business management.
✨ 45 women will be supported to build income-generating opportunities through catering and food businesses.
✨ 2 community kitchens in Dhaka and Rangpur will create safe spaces for women to learn, work and grow together.
✨ A women-led cooperative will support long-term sustainability and community ownership.
✨ Women will be connected with private-sector buyers, institutions and digital platforms to access real markets.

We were honored to welcome distinguished guests and partners, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Australian High Commission, development partners, civil society, academia and the private sector.

When women have the opportunity to earn, they don’t just transform their own lives—they strengthen their families and help their communities move forward. ❤️
