Voices for Change, Action for Safety — End Violence Against Children in Our Cities

Across Bangladesh, thousands of street-connected and vulnerable children face daily threats of violence, neglect, and exclusion. This July, Global Street Connect is hosting six impactful events as part of Child Protection Awareness Week — bringing together professionals, institutions, and communities to take a united stand for children’s rights, safety, and well-being.

18 July | Stop the Bleed – First Response Workshop
📍 Ground Zero, 4:00 PM
A practical, hands-on session on emergency bleeding control and lifesaving interventions.
19 July | Hope on Wheels – Free Medical Camp & Medicine Distribution
📍 Kamalapur Railway Station & Sadarghat Launch Terminal, 10:00 AM
A mobile outreach initiative offering free health services and medicine to street-connected children.
20 July | Seminar: Addressing Violence – Mental Wellness for Street Children
📍 Jagannath University Auditorium, 10:00 AM
Academic and clinical reflections on trauma, abuse, and healing pathways for vulnerable children.
21 July | Film Screening & Discussion
🎬 Green Foot Soldiers: Homeless Children and Plastic World
📍 BRAC University Auditorium, 2:00 PM
A powerful documentary on homeless children who survive by collecting plastic waste — followed by a critical dialogue with students and faculty.
22 July | Policy Dialogue: Voices from the Margins
📍 Dhaka Press Club, 9:30 AM
A multi-stakeholder forum to end violence against street children through evidence, advocacy, and action.
23 July | Seminar: Vulnerability in Children & Vulnerable Children
📍 BSMMU, Basic Science Building (9th Floor), 10:00 AM
Exploring child health vulnerabilities in Dhaka’s urban margins through a public health lens.
