Last year,IDS was born out of resilience—built through obstacles,without privilege, sustained only by conviction. Today,we step into a new era: one defined by guidance, vision, and excellence.
We are proud to announce our very first coach: Zafir Anam
Zafir Anam is more than an accomplished debater.An Open Champion at prestigious tournaments and a consistent Debater of the Tournament,his record speaks volumes.Yet beyond the accolades,it is his discipline,intellectual rigor, versatility,mastery of persuasion that make him a true figure to look up to.Under his mentorship, our novices will not just learn to debate—they will learn to think critically, structure with clarity, and command with conviction. With Zafir at the helm, IDS will not just compete,but thrive—not just participate, but lead.

"I still remember when Zafir kept losing debate after debate.It wasn’t just small losses—some of them were really tough.Most people would’ve given up,but not him.He kept showing up,kept practicing and never lost his passion for debating.Now,it’s amazing to see how far he’s come.He’s winning everywhere, and not just that—he’s become the coach of his first institution, where he did not matter much. Ideal Debating Society

Founding something meaningful is never easy — and this club is proof of that. The Ideal Debating Society was not born out of convenience, but out of conviction. In an environment where opportunity rarely arrives uninvited, a group of determined and driven college students chose to build what didn’t yet exist: a platform for powerful ideas, fearless dialogue, and transformative debate.

This club is the product of resilience — of overcoming institutional challenges, administrative hurdles, and the quiet resistance that often meets those who dare to lead. It was built not just with vision, but with effort, perseverance, and an unshakable belief in what debate can represent: a voice for those who think critically, speak bravely, and lead with purpose.

Today marks a defining moment in that journey — the announcement of the inaugural Executive Committee of the Ideal Debating Society. These are not just office bearers; they are the founding pillars of a legacy in the making. As they step into their roles, they carry the weight of beginnings — not just to organize and facilitate, but to shape a culture that will inspire generations of speakers, thinkers, and change-makers.
