Disabled Child Foundation - DCF DCF is a non-profit voluntary organization working alongside persons with disabilities and vulnerable people to improve their human rights.

About Us:
Disabled Child Foundation (DCF) is a Non-Government Organization in Bangladesh led by persons with disabilities, which is an independent and non-profitable and non-political voluntary organization was established on June 27, 2005. The organization is also well-recognized as a Disabled People Organization (DPO) for active participation, leadership and professional engagement of persons wi

th disabilities. Since its inception, Disabled Child Foundation has been working for the children and persons with disabilities in the country with the faith in the morals of working for the poor and disadvantaged people. Mission:
Disabled Child Foundation would be a self–dependent and national organization to promote rights and opportunities of person with disabilities in Bangladesh. Vision:
To ensure mainstreaming of persons with disabilities in the context of national development activities with equal rights and participation. Strategies of the Organization:
* Creation of equal opportunities and participation of person with disabilities with dignity and honor in the development activities.
* To ensure an inclusive education system at all levels for persons with disabilities.
* To promote barrier-free integration of all types of person with disabilities into the mainstream of socio-economic, political and cultural life with equal rights and participation throughout the country.
* To provide skill development training facilities for persons with disabilities.
* To ensure community advocacy & develop good networking relation at the grassroots to the national level for their social inclusion. The goal of the organization:
The goal of DCF is to ensure the socio-economic, meaningful life of person with disabilities and the best utilization of their potentialities, skills and talents in the different sectors of the society. Objectives of the Organization:
* Creation of equal opportunities and participation of person with disabilities with dignity and honor in the development activities.
* To ensure an inclusive education system at all levels for persons with disabilities.
* To promote barrier-free integration of all types of person with disabilities into the mainstream of socio-economic, political and cultural life with equal rights and participation throughout the country.

1. General Committee-According to the DCF constitution there are two layers in the management system. One is General Committee and other is Executive Committee. General Committee consists of 21 members. The General Committee elects Executive Committee democratically for two years.

2. Executive Committee – the Committee consists of seven members. Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, Treasurer and other three members responsible for implementing the decision and policy adapted by the General Committee.

Today on 18 June 2026, Disabled Child Foundation (DCF) successfully held the Orientation Meeting of the “Braille Book Publishing and Distribution for Visually Impaired Students in Bangladesh” project Funded by MetLife Foundation at China Sizzling Restaurant (Bhuter Adda).
The event brought together key stakeholders from the education, library, and social service sectors, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing inclusive education and access to information for persons with disabilities.
We were honoured by the presence of Ms. Feroza Pervin, Director of Sufia Kamal National Public Library, Dept. of Public Libraries whose dedication to promoting accessible library services continues to inspire efforts toward greater inclusion. We were also pleased to welcome Ms. Masuma Naznin, Assistant Director of the Department of Public Libraries, Ms. Suraia Khatun, Resource Teacher of the Khilkhet Integrated Education Programme, and representatives from the Department of Social Services, whose valuable insights enriched the discussion.
The meeting was chaired by Ms. Nasrin Jahan, Executive Director of DCF, who reaffirmed the organization's commitment to creating opportunities for visually impaired students and youth through accessible education, information, and skills development.

DCF sincerely thanks all guests and stakeholders for their continued support in building a more inclusive Bangladesh where everyone has the opportunity to learn, participate, and thrive.

On 08 June 2026, DCF honored to welcome an esteemed visitor delegation from Save the Children Netherlands and Save the Children Bangladesh to our DCF office including Ms. Anne Johnson, Programme Manager, Save the Children Netherlands.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to present DCF's organisational transformation journey under the SWOCCHAR Project, review project progress, exchange reflections, and reaffirm our shared commitment to championing the rights of women and girls with disabilities in Bangladesh.
Grateful for the trust, partnership, and continued support of Save the Children and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in strengthening DCF as a women-led, disability-inclusive organisation. 🇧🇩💙

On 03 June 2026, Disabled Child Foundation (DCF) participated in the Coordination Meeting of the Feminist Leadership Committee (FLC) held at the YWCA Centre, Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
The meeting was organized under the SWOCCHAR Project, which is supported by Save the Children and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with the aim of strengthening women's economic empowerment and fostering collaboration among women-led organizations.

Executive Directors and Project Focals from nine women-led partner organizations, along with representatives from Save the Children, participated in the meeting. The discussion focused on strengthening coordination, sharing progress and experiences, and exploring strategies to further advance women's economic empowerment initiatives.
DCF remains committed to promoting disability-inclusive development and ensuring that women with disabilities are meaningfully included in economic empowerment opportunities and leadership processes.
Together, we can build a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

Project Background
Under the project "Braille Book Publishing and Distribution for Visually Impaired Students in Bangladesh," DCF is implementing a skills development training component targeting 10 educated visually impaired persons. The training will focus on computer and mobile device use, including assistive technologies.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities
The Trainer will be responsible for the following:
• Design and develop a structured training curriculum on computer and mobile use tailored for visually impaired participants, incorporating relevant assistive technologies (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack, screen magnifiers).
• Conduct hands-on skill development training sessions for 10 educated visually impaired persons in a batch format.
• Teach participants to use advanced computer applications (MS Word, Excel, email, internet), smartphones, and accessibility features embedded in operating systems.
• Adapt training methodology, materials, and pace to ensure full accessibility and comprehension for participants with visual impairments.
• Prepare accessible training materials in both print (Braille-ready) and audio/digital formats.
• Maintain attendance records, session reports, and training evaluation forms.
• Support DCF's advocacy efforts by documenting participants' skills, progress, and employment readiness.
• Participate in coordination meetings with the DCF Project Coordinator and relevant stakeholders.
• Submit a final training report including outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in ICT training or capacity development.
• Prior experience training persons with disabilities, especially persons with visual impairments, is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in assistive technologies: NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack, or equivalent screen readers.
• Strong command of MS Office Suite, internet browsing, email, and Android/iOS accessibility features.
Other Skills
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in Bangla (English proficiency will be considered an advantage).
• Ability to prepare accessible training materials and reports.

On 13 May 2026, Ms. Nasrin Jahan, Executive Director of Disabled Child Foundation (DCF), participated in a meeting at BRAC INN on the study dissemination of Gender and Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) in Bangladesh, organized by the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD).
Director General of Department of Disaster Management was chief guest in this occasion.

The discussion highlighted the importance of inclusive approaches to climate resilience and disaster preparedness for persons with disabilities in Bangladesh.
