EuroCham Bangladesh joins the EBO Worldwide Network (EBOWN) in expressing solidarity with the people of Nepal, the European Economic Chamber (EEC)-Nepal, and all communities affected by the catastrophic flash floods and cascading debris flows.

EBOWN has called upon its worldwide network and the European business community to support humanitarian relief and early recovery efforts, with financial contributions directed through the Government of Nepal’s official Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

Companies and organisations interested in providing in-kind or targeted assistance are encouraged to contact EuroCham Bangladesh at [email protected], which will coordinate with EEC-Nepal to help ensure that the assistance responds to verified needs.

FTA with the EU Will Bring Long-Term Investment Benefits

Discussions concerning a potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Bangladesh and the European Union are no longer merely conceptual. Both sides have demonstrated their willingness to move forward. However, this willingness must be translated quickly into formal negotiations, according to Nuria López, Chairperson of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (EuroCham) and Managing Director of Zalo Knitting Limited.

She discussed these matters in an exclusive interview with Kaler Kantho, conducted by Abdullah Al Miraj.

Strengthening EU–Bangladesh Business Partnerships

EuroCham Bangladesh sincerely thanks H.E. Michael Miller, Ambassador of the European Union to Bangladesh, for hosting the reception on 2 July and for bringing together EuroCham, its members, and the EU Member State Embassies on a single platform.
The evening provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen dialogue between the EU Member State representatives and the European business community in Bangladesh, while exchanging views on shared economic priorities and the future of the EU–Bangladesh partnership.
We are grateful for the EU's continued partnership and for including EuroCham in important initiatives, including discussions on the evolving EU–Bangladesh trade relationship, addressing non-tariff barriers, and preparations for the landmark EU–Bangladesh Business Forum in April 2027.
As Bangladesh enters a new chapter in its partnership with the European Union, EuroCham remains committed to working alongside the EU and its Member States to advance trade, investment, and sustainable economic cooperation.
