Three inspiring days of conversations, learning, and meaningful discussions came to a memorable close on September 7 with our Certificate Giving Ceremony.

We were delighted to recognize 48 dedicated participants who attended at least two of the three sessions and received certificates in appreciation of their active participation and commitment to learning about climate and environmental issues.

The ceremony was further enriched by inspiring remarks from Ms. Tahsina Rahman, Head of Student Life, BRAC University; Ms. Roufa Khanum, Deputy Director, C3ER, BRAC University; and Ms. Sharmin Nahar Nipa, Assistant Director, C3ER, BRAC University.

The speakers reminded us that meaningful climate action begins within our own community. The knowledge we gain is not just for the classroom it is a responsibility to encourage sustainable practices and inspire positive change around us.

To make the closing session even more exciting, we hosted an interactive Kahoot! quiz giving participants the opportunity to put their knowledge from the three-day series to the test.

A huge congratulations to our top three participants, who demonstrated outstanding knowledge and performance and received special prizes!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to C3ER, KOICA, BUECAC, our speakers, collaborators, volunteers and every participant who made Climate & Environment Talk 2026 a meaningful and successful initiative. 💚

The three days may be over, but the learning continues. Let’s turn knowledge into action and keep working towards a greener, more sustainable future.

And that's a wrap. 🌿

Three days of Climate & Environment Talk 2026 came to a close today, and Day 3 tackled something we all deal with but rarely talk about seriously: plastic waste.

🪨 Ms. Sankalita Shome, Technical Lead of Waste Projects at BRAC, opened the floor with a session on Understanding Plastic Pollution, breaking down just how deep the crisis runs and where it actually starts.

🪱 Mr. Ifthikhar Zaman, Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology at BRAC University, followed with Plastic Pollution: Challenges and Solutions, walking us through the science behind the problem and, more importantly, what we can actually do about it.

The takeaway from today, and honestly from the whole series, is that understanding a problem properly is the first real step toward solving it.

To everyone who sat through all three days, asked questions, and stayed engaged till the very end, thank you. To every speaker who joined us the past 3 weeks, thank you for showing up and sharing what you know. And to KOICA, World Friends Korea, KIDC, and C3ER, BRAC University, BRAC University, for making this series possible from start to finish, we couldn't have done this without you.

This is where the talking ends and the doing begins. 🌱

🌍🌱 Day 2 | Climate & Environment Talk 2026

Day 2 of the Climate & Environment Talk 2026 continued the conversation on climate action, placing young people, their lived realities, vulnerabilities, and power to influence change at the centre.

Organized by the BRAC University Environment Club (BUEnC) and KOICA, with support from C3ER, BRAC University, the second day of the series was held on 23 August 2026, featuring two insightful sessions on climate change and youth engagement.

🌿 Ms. Farah Anzum, Climate Change and Energy Transition Communication Specialist, spoke on “How Climate Change Reshapes Lives: From Before Birth to Young Adulthood in Bangladesh,” highlighting the impacts of climate change on children and young people, from education and health to security and mental well-being.

🌿 Mr. Amanullah Porag, Founder & Executive Director of Youth for NDCs, delivered a session on “Role of Youth in Climate Action: From Vulnerability to Influence,” emphasizing meaningful youth participation and the power of young people to contribute to climate policy and decision-making.

Day 2 reminded us that young people are not merely inheriting the climate crisis; they are essential partners in shaping its solutions. 🌱

Day 1 is done and honestly, the room delivered. 🌿

On August 16th, BUEnC kicked off Climate & Environment Talk 2026 — three days we've been building toward for a while — and the turnout made it clear how much this actually matters to people here.

This event was jointly organized by the BRAC University Environment Club (BUEnC), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) volunteers; and supported by the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) at BRAC University. We were honored to welcome the following respected speakers!

🪼 Mr. Dharitri Kumar Sarkar, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, opened up the event by walking us through Bangladesh's national response to the crisis. Policy, priorities, what's actually being done.

🪼 Then Ms. Sharmin Nahar Nipa, Assistant Director at C3ER, BRAC University, grounded us in the basics of climate change — the science most of us think we understand until someone actually explains it properly.

Two hours that didn't feel like two hours.

Thank you to our collaborators for backing this from day one, and to everyone who showed up, took notes, and stuck around to ask the hard questions.

Day 2 is next, and it hits differently. We're talking about youth leadership and what this crisis actually means for the generation growing up inside it. Sunday, August 23rd.
