বিদ্যুতের বিল আরও বাড়তে পারে—এমন আশঙ্কা তৈরি হয়েছে নতুন প্রস্তাবনা ঘিরে। সরকার একদিকে বিদ্যুতের দাম বাড়ানোর চিন্তা করছে, অন্যদিকে আবাসিক গ্রাহকদের বিলিং স্ল্যাবেও পরিবর্তন আনার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে। এতে সবচেয়ে বেশি চাপ পড়তে পারে মধ্যবিত্ত ও সাধারণ পরিবারগুলোর ওপর।
জীবনযাত্রার ব্যয় যখন প্রতিনিয়ত বাড়ছে, তখন নির্ভরযোগ্য, সাশ্রয়ী ও টেকসই জ্বালানি নিশ্চিত করা আরও জরুরি হয়ে উঠেছে। জ্বালানি নীতিতে এমন ভারসাম্য প্রয়োজন, যা দেশের ভবিষ্যৎও সুরক্ষিত করবে, আবার সাধারণ মানুষের ওপর অতিরিক্ত চাপও তৈরি করবে না।

Electricity consumers may soon face another burden as the government considers both tariff hikes and changes to residential billing slabs. The proposed restructuring could significantly increase electricity costs for middle-income households already struggling with rising living expenses. Affordable, reliable and clean energy must remain a priority for Bangladesh’s future. Energy policy should protect consumers while ensuring long-term energy security and sustainability.

ঢাকায় বৃষ্টি হলে বাতাসের মান ভালো হলেও এই বছর একটু ভিন্ন চিত্র লক্ষ্য করা যাচ্ছে।বৃষ্টির পরও বাতাস ভারী, দূষণ চোখে পড়ার মতোই রয়ে গেছে।
আমাদের এখন শক্তিশালী নীতি, কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ এবং বায়ুদূষণ কমাতে আন্তরিক উদ্যোগ দরকার। কারণ পরিষ্কার বাতাস কোনো বিলাসিতা নয়, এটা নাগরিকদের মৌলিক অধিকার।

Rain used to bring noticeable relief to Dhaka’s air pollution over the past few years. But this year, the story feels different. Even after rainfall, the air quality remains concerning. Bangladesh urgently needs stronger policies, stricter enforcement, and real commitment to improving air quality for public health and the future of our cities.
