Sophie Morgan is a disability rights campaigner, who founded the Imperfect campaign, a platform for showcasing the talents and achievements of young disabled people. She was nominated for Young Disabled Person of the Year in the UK and is also campaigning for change in the representation of the disabled by the fashion industry. Morgan aims to challenge how disability is perceived.

Sophie Morgan’s talk is about challenging societal attitudes toward disability and reframing how disabled people are perceived. She draws on her own experiences as a highly visible disability rights campaigner to show how change starts at both personal and cultural levels.

আজকের মহান বিজয় দিবস স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়, সবার ন্যায্য অধিকারই প্রকৃত বিজয়।

সমাজের সকল প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিসহ সকলকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে এগিয়ে চলা হোক আমাদের লক্ষ্য।

আজ ১০ ডিসেম্বর "আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার দিবস" এ আমরা যখন সার্বজনীন অধিকারের কথা ভাবি, তখন আমাদের আলোচনায় বাংলাদেশের প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের অধিকারটি অগ্রাধিকার পায়।

সরকারের আইনি অঙ্গীকার আশা জাগায়। কিন্তু বাস্তবতা ভিন্ন। ৫৪.৭৪% প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তির প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষা নেই, কর্মে যুক্ত মাত্র ৩৩.৭৮% এবং নারীদের ক্ষেত্রে এই হার মাত্র ১২.৮০%। প্রতিদিনের যাতায়াত, কাজ বা সেবা পাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রেও সহজ নয় এ পথ চলা।

আমাদের গবেষণা ও প্রচেষ্টা যেন এই ব্যবধান দূর করতে কাজ করে। আইনের সঠিক বাস্তবায়ন, অর্থায়ন বৃদ্ধি এবং সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অভিজ্ঞতাকে কণ্ঠস্বর করাই এখন সময়ের দাবি।

একটা বাংলাদেশের স্বপ্ন দেখা যাক, যেখানে শুধু প্রতিবন্ধীতার কারণে কেউ পিছিয়ে থাকে না।

প্রতিবন্ধী অধিকার মানেই মানবাধিকার।
সবার জন্য সম অধিকার।

আজ ৩ রা ডিসেম্বর আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তি দিবস।

আমাদের সমাজে প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের সম্পর্কে অনেকগুলো ভুল ধারণা এবং কুসংস্কার প্রচলিত আছে। এই ভ্রান্ত ধারণাগুলো প্রায়ই তাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনে আরো অদৃশ্য বাধার সৃষ্টি করে।
