Our Team dedicated members of PROJECT LAAL Deployed 2 times 5-day operation Cumilla - choddogram - Feni-Hagigonj - lakshmipur - Noakhali.
We were formed for a rescue mission. Still, it seemed like relief was more needed than rescue. Our team's priority was to rescue, but we did both, Alhamdulillah. It took a lot to distribute 830++ (around 1500 people) reliefs. It was not possible for a team of 15. So we took help from the Bangladesh Army, and we also took help from locals and divided our team into 3 parts. We deployed into 3 places separately for better work efficiency and cooperated with the locals.
We gave the army 300 families relief, covering 600 people 3 days of survival, food, and medicines. We had to walk for 2-3 hours to reach the depth of villages where people cannot take a boat. This 3-hour walk was challenging, so people staying there could not get relief for the last 7 days. Alhamdulillah, with the help of local people, we reached them, and they guided us through the route and every other team. Seeing the tears of joy in people's eyes after they received the relief was worth every step we took.
Note: with a calm mind, we also guided people on how to use the medicine properly and when they should take it. It was much needed as most were unaware of using purification tabs and other medicines. We also handed over reliefs to trusted local volunteers whom we worked with during our operation and distributed 400+ people relief. We all lost our energy after working for 3 days straight. Our truck driver, Saiful Bhai, also went with us to distribute goods and helped us in as many ways as possible.
We collected funds by ourselves; Tanzimul Alam Fahim, Sharaf Azad , Sakib Zaman, and Raiyanul Islam Siam also contributed to funds, and reliefs were collected from the general people and BracU general students relief collection.
Our operation and rescue distributions donations and expenses are already mentioned in a post on our page . Habe a look at it
Unexpectedly, We also met 2 of our honorable Advisors during our journey: Advisor Farida Akhtar Sir and Advisor Hasan Arif Sir.
In conclusion, this rescue team was able to save a few people. Still, with the help of local volunteers and army support, alhamdulillah, we successfully distributed the relief to the family who had never received anything for the last 7 days. We didn't give to the ones who already got it; we gave relief to the people who needed it and were dying for some food to eat. Most of the clips were taken by the locals and our helping hand, Saiful Bhai, who did a lot for us and became one of us.
This operation was a success only because of you all. Who donated, who gave relief, who supported everyone. The credit goes to everyone, Each of you, who believed in us. Thank You, everyone.
