We are a group of socially and politically aware students with a shared goal — to better understand the society we live in, and to explore how civic participation, informed political engagement, and a stronger democratic system can improve our everyday lives. On February 12, 2026, in the Dhaka-13 constituency, 54.97% of registered voters — 224,719 people out of 408,790 — did not cast their ballots, and the winning candidate won by a margin of just 2,320 votes.
Why did so many people stay home? Barriers, distrust, or something else entirely? We want to uunderstand, not to judge but to understand why, especially with the upcoming DNCC Mayor and Councilor elections on the horizon.
This survey is completely independent and non-partisan, with no affiliation to any political party. Your responses are fully anonymous and will be used solely for academic research. There are no right or wrong answers — just your honest opinion. It takes only 5 minutes. 👉
