Proud Moment for International Maritime Academy

We are delighted to announce a remarkable achievement by three outstanding cadets of International Maritime Academy (IMA)

Among 10,000 participants worldwide, three cadets from IMA’s 15th Batch have secured places in the Top 20 of the International Maritime Olympiad 2026, organized by Marine Insight. This incredible accomplishment reflects their dedication, knowledge, and passion for the maritime profession.

👏 The proud achievers are:
• Cadet Ahmed (AC-972)
• Cadet Mehedi (AC-1032)
• Cadet Hasan (AC-1034)

A special congratulations to Cadet Mehedi, who previously brought honor to the academy by securing 2nd place in the Luddeke Prize 2025, held on 28 November 2025. For this achievement, he was awarded £100 along with £500 worth of maritime reading materials.

These accomplishments highlight the academic excellence and global competitiveness of IMA cadets, and we are immensely proud of their success on the international stage.

A wonderful Iftaar Party was arranged by the Chittagong IMAIANS where Batchmates, Senior,Beloved junior and fellow mariners gathered together to share the blessings of Ramadan. It was a beautiful evening filled with unity, brotherhood, and gratitude. 🤝

Moments like these remind us that beyond our busy maritime careers, the bond between IMAIANS remains strong wherever we are. Wishing everyone a blessed Ramadan. 🌙

বিশ্বখ্যাত সমুদ্রচলাচল বিষয়ক সংস্থা ‘দ্য নটিক্যাল ইনস্টিটিউট’ ২০২৫ সালের মর্যাদাপূর্ণ ‘লুডেক প্রাইজ’ বিজয়ীদের নাম ঘোষণা করেছে। প্রতি বছরের মতো এবারও ক্যাপ্টেন ক্রিস্টফ ফার্দিনান্দ লুডেকের স্মরণে এই পুরস্কার প্রদান করা হয়েছে। এবারের আসরে ফিলিপিন্সের জয়জয়কারের পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশের ইন্টারন্যাশনাল মেরিটাইম একাডেমি(IMA) ক্যাডেট মেহেদি হাসান রানার-আপ হয়ে দেশের জন্য আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মান বয়ে এনেছেন।মেহেদীকে International Maritime Academy Alumni Association - IMAAA এর পক্ষ থেকে শুভেচ্ছা জানাচ্ছি ❤️

⚓ 🎓 Earlier this week we announced that the winner of the 2025 Lüddeke Prize is Cadet John Emmanuel Espiritu, Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific and The International Maritime Employers'​ Council Ltd (IMEC), Philippines, with joint runners-up, Engine Cadet Danny Christian Jumayao, John B Lacson Colleges Foundation, Philippines and Cadet MD. Mehedi Hasan, Bangladesh Maritime University.

🌐 Captain John Lloyd FNI, CEO of The Nautical Institute, said: “The Nautical Institute’s Lüddeke Prize highlights the important role of knowledge and leadership in shaping the future of maritime operations. I wholeheartedly congratulate this year’s nominees and winners for their outstanding contributions and thank our members and supporters for their commitment to learning, sharing best practice and promoting operational safety across the maritime community. Recognising Captain Lüddeke’s legacy, we encourage continued support in helping future generations of seafarers thrive.”

It was an absolute privilege to visit IMA to attend the Passing Out Ceremony of the 14th Batch of Cadets. Watching the young cadets march with pride and determination brought back a flood of memories from our own days at the academy.

We are truly honored to have been invited as members of the IMA Alumni Association and to witness the next generation step forward to serve the nation with courage and commitment.

Wishing the newly passed out Cadets great success and glory in their journey ahead.

মো. শফিকুজ্জামান স্টালিন-এর মৃত্যুতে BMMOA-এর শোক প্রস্তাব

অত্যন্ত দুঃখের সাথে জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, বাংলাদেশ মার্চেন্ট মেরিন অফিসার্স এসোসিয়েশন (BMMOA)-এর সম্মানিত তরুন সদস্য মো: শফিকুজ্জামান স্টালিন (ইন্টারন্যাশনাল মেরিটাইম একাডেমি, ১ম ব্যাচ এবং এক্স ক্যাডেট মির্জাপুর ক্যাডেট কলেজ) একটি মর্মান্তিক সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় ইন্তেকাল করেন। তিনি সর্বশেষ MOL Chemical Tanker-এ সেকেন্ড অফিসার হিসেবে কর্মরত ছিলেন।

“ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাহি রাজিউন”।
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
(নিশ্চয়ই আমরা আল্লাহর জন্য এবং নিশ্চয়ই আমরা তাঁর দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তনকারী।)

তার অকাল মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। বাংলাদেশ মার্চেন্ট মেরিন অফিসার্স এসোসিয়েশন-এর সকল সদস্যবৃন্দ এবং দেশী ও বিদেশী জাহাজে কর্মরত বাংলাদেশী মার্চেন্ট মেরিন অফিসারদের পক্ষ থেকে আমরা মরহুমের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি এবং তার শোক সন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর শোক ও সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছি।
