BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026: Strengthening Global Partnerships for Bangladesh’s Semiconductor Future

The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) successfully completed the Silicon Valley segment of the BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026, held from June 9–12, 2026 in California, USA.

The delegation was led by Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain, Chief Architect of Silicon River Bangladesh, together with Mr. M A Jabbar, President of BSIA, BSIA leaders, and participating member companies. The delegation engaged with global semiconductor leaders, research institutions, investors, innovation platforms, and Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) professionals to showcase Bangladesh’s growing capabilities in semiconductor design, advanced packaging, electronics, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, and innovation.

During the Silicon Valley engagements, the BSIA delegation held productive meetings with leading global organizations and distinguished technology leaders, including:

✅ Arm - engagement led by Dr. Sayeed Badrudduza, Director of R&D, NXP
✅ Yield Engineering Systems (YES) - meeting with company leadership, including the CEO, Senior Vice President, Corporate Vice President, and Dr. Zia Karim, Chief Technology Officer
✅ UC Berkeley SkyDeck - discussion on connecting Bangladeshi innovation with global startup acceleration and venture capital opportunities

The discussions focused on key areas such as semiconductor design, advanced packaging and testing, workforce development, AI-enabled infrastructure, digital twins, equipment engineering, research collaboration, startup acceleration, and diaspora engagement through BRAINGAIN.

Several important outcomes emerged from the roadshow, including potential strategic collaboration frameworks, vendor engagement opportunities, support for BEAR Summit 2026, academic and research collaboration, innovation readiness programs, and stronger participation of global Bangladeshi semiconductor professionals in Bangladesh’s technology journey.

The Silicon River Banquet Reception also brought together nearly 100 NRB entrepreneurs, technologists, researchers, investors, and executives from leading global semiconductor companies including Synopsys, SanDisk, GlobalFoundries, Intel, and others. His Excellency Mr. Tareq Ariful Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States, attended the event as Chief Guest and highlighted the important role of BRAINGAIN and Silicon River in transforming Bangladesh into a Nation of Innovation.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. M A Jabbar, President of BSIA, reflected on BSIA’s journey since beginning engagement with the global Bangladeshi semiconductor diaspora in 2017 and highlighted the remarkable momentum achieved over the last eighteen months. Dr. Anisul Khan presented the Silicon River framework and outlined engagement opportunities for NRB professionals, while Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain called upon the community to focus on ex*****on and meaningful action.

Through initiatives such as Silicon River, BRAINGAIN, CREST, SICIP, SARA, STAR, and BEAR Summit, Bangladesh is steadily building a globally connected innovation ecosystem with strong potential in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, and advanced technology development.

BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026 Visits Arizona State University

As part of the BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026, the Bangladeshi delegation led by BSIA President Mr. M. A. Jabbar visited Arizona State University (ASU) on June 8 in Phoenix, Arizona.

An extensive three-hour discussion was held on future collaboration between Bangladesh and ASU, focusing on educational engagement, admission opportunities for Bangladeshi students, internship pathways, research collaboration, and formal engagement with the CREST program.

Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, Chief Architect of the Silicon River Initiative, presented a comprehensive ten-year roadmap outlining potential areas of collaboration between ASU and Bangladesh. The roadmap emphasized student mobility, workforce development, research partnerships, faculty engagement, entrepreneurship, and long-term ecosystem building.

The proposal was highly appreciated by ASU leadership, including Associate Vice Provost Jeff Goss. ASU leadership also accepted an invitation to participate in BEAR Summit 2026, to be held next month in Dhaka.

BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026 Continues in Phoenix, Arizona

Following a successful launch in Austin, the BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026 continued in Phoenix, Arizona, one of America’s fastest-growing semiconductor hubs, increasingly known as the “Silicon Desert.”

The Phoenix chapter began with a highly successful BRAINGAIN Reception, bringing together more than 80 Non-Resident Bangladeshi semiconductor professionals from over 30 global semiconductor companies, representing more than 1,600 years of combined industry experience.

The event featured discussions on Bangladesh’s semiconductor vision, workforce development, advanced packaging, testing, AI, mentorship, industry-academia collaboration, and diaspora engagement. BSIA President Mr. M. A. Jabbar called upon the diaspora to become active participants in Bangladesh’s semiconductor journey.

The delegation also visited Cactus Materials, founded by BUET alumnus and distinguished semiconductor entrepreneur Dr. Rafiqul Islam. Discussions focused on Bangladesh’s growing talent pipeline, workforce readiness, global competitiveness, and future opportunities in the semiconductor industry.

The delegation has now departed Arizona for Silicon Valley, where the next phase of the Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026 will continue.

Bangladesh Semiconductor Roadshow 2026 Begins in Austin, Texas

The Silicon River & BRAINGAIN USA Roadshow 2026 successfully launched in Austin, Texas, marking an important milestone in Bangladesh’s journey toward becoming a globally connected deep-technology and semiconductor nation.

A Bangladeshi delegation led by BSIA President Mr. M. A. Jabbar met with senior leadership teams from AMD, NXP, and Tokyo Electron (TEL). The discussions focused on Bangladesh’s long-term semiconductor vision, talent development initiatives, innovation ecosystem, and opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.

Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, Chief Architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative, presented Bangladesh’s progress, aspirations, and unique value proposition. Participating Bangladeshi companies including Dynamic Solution Innovators (DSi), iTest Bangladesh Limited, Neural Semiconductor Limited, and SILICONOVA Limited also showcased their technical capabilities and business offerings.

The Austin BRAINGAIN Reception brought together approximately 75 Bangladeshi-origin semiconductor professionals, representing more than 1,500 years of combined industry experience. The response from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting strong diaspora interest in contributing to Bangladesh’s emerging semiconductor ecosystem.

The Silicon River & BRAINGAIN USA Roadshow will continue across multiple U.S. cities, further strengthening partnerships between Bangladesh, the global semiconductor industry, and the Bangladeshi diaspora.

BSIA Launches Silicon River & BRAINGAIN USA Roadshow 2026

The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) is pleased to announce the launch of the BSIA USA Roadshow 2026, a multi-city initiative under the Silicon River and BRAINGAIN programs.

Taking place from June 5-13, 2026, the Roadshow aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s engagement with the global semiconductor ecosystem and mobilize Bangladeshi-origin technology leaders in the United States.

Led by BSIA President Mr. M. A. Jabbar and Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, Chief Architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative, the Roadshow will connect Bangladesh with semiconductor companies, universities, accelerators, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, policymakers, and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora across major U.S. innovation hubs.

Through this initiative, BSIA seeks to create new opportunities for collaboration in workforce development, research, chip design, advanced packaging, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and emerging technologies.

Together, we are building bridges between global expertise and Bangladesh’s national aspirations.

The BSIA South Korea Semiconductor Roadshow 2026 wrapped up with remarkable outcomes - strategic meetings with SK hynix, KSIA, KAIST, Hana Micron, SuperGate, PineS, and more, covering advanced packaging, AI hardware, workforce development, and research collaboration.

A landmark LOI was signed between KAIST Global Commercialization Center, CREST, and BSIA - paving the way for joint semiconductor research, startup ecosystems, and talent development.

Ahead of the South Korea Roadshow, BSIA President Mr. M. A. Jabbar and Tareq Khan, COO of PrimeSilicon Technology Ltd. paid a courtesy visit to Toufiq Islam Shatil, Ambassador of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Seoul, and Md. Nazmul Haque, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy, at their office in Seoul.

Bangladesh Participated for the 1st Time as Exhibitor at SEMICON SEA 2026 in Malaysia

The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA), in partnership with the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh, participated for the first time in history as an exhibitor at the SEMICON SEA 2026, which was held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from May 5–7, 2026.

Three BSIA member companies—Prime Silicon Technology Limited, Neural Semiconductor Limited, and Siliconova Limited—showcased their products, technologies, and services at the international exhibition, representing Bangladesh’s growing capabilities in the semiconductor and advanced technology sectors.

H.E. the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, Mr. Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, visited the BSIA booth along with officials of the Bangladesh High Commission. During the visit, he expressed high satisfaction over Bangladesh’s participation in SEMICON SEA 2026 and appreciated the initiative taken by BSIA and the participating companies to showcase Bangladesh’s semiconductor potential on a global platform. He also thanked the exhibitors and BSIA for taking this important initiative to promote Bangladesh’s emerging semiconductor industry internationally.

Welcoming the High Commissioner, Mr. M. A. Jabbar, President of Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association, expressed gratitude for the continuous support extended by the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia. He stated that although BSIA representatives had previously attended SEMICON SEA as visitors, this marked the first-ever participation of Bangladesh as an exhibitor at the prestigious global semiconductor event.

“We believed this was the beginning of a new journey for Bangladesh’s semiconductor industry. Through this platform, we hoped to attract global semiconductor companies to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh and build meaningful international partnerships,” he added.

It may be mentioned that the exhibition was inaugurated on May 5, 2026 by the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Malaysia, YB. Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. During the opening ceremony, Mr. Ajit Manocha, President & CEO of SEMI, and Ms. Linda Tan, President of SEMI Southeast Asia, delivered remarks highlighting the importance of regional collaboration and innovation in the semiconductor ecosystem.

During the event, the BSIA delegation and the High Commissioner also met with the President of the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA), Dato’ Seri Wong Siew Hai, and exchanged views on possible cooperation and partnership opportunities between the semiconductor industries of Bangladesh and Malaysia.

The participation of Bangladesh at SEMICON SEA 2026 reflected the country’s growing ambitions to become an active contributor to the global semiconductor value chain through talent development, innovation, engineering services, and strategic international collaboration.

BSIA at DDI Expo 2026: From Consumers to Creators

At the Digital Device & Innovation Expo (DDI Expo) 2026 in Dhaka, the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) joined a high-level panel on positioning Bangladesh in the global semiconductor and deep-tech value chain. The discussion highlighted realistic entry points for Bangladesh- fabless chip design, embedded systems, OSAT, semiconductor software, and system-level innovation- driven by talent, policy alignment, academia-industry collaboration, and global partnerships.

The panel was moderated by Dr. Touhidur Rahman, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BRAC University, and brought together distinguished experts from academia, industry, government, and global technology leaders. The panelists included Dr. Nadim Chowdhury, Associate Professor, EEE, BUET; Mr. M A Jabbar, President, Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) and Managing Director, Neural Semiconductor Ltd.; Mr. Lin Hai (Haven), Vice President and Director of the Board, Huawei South Asia; Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Hussain, Fellow IEEE and Professor, Purdue University; Mr. Nahian Rahman Rochi, Executive Member, BIDA; and Ms. Rudmeela Nawshin, Founder and CEO, Config VR and ConfigRbot.

Speaking at the session, BSIA President Mr. M A Jabbar emphasized that Bangladesh’s semiconductor journey has already begun, with local firms delivering real design services and solutions to global clients. He noted the critical role of diaspora networks in building trust and how BSIA is scaling this bridge institutionally.

The panel concluded with a clear message: Bangladesh must move decisively from being a semiconductor consumer to a creator- unlocking value through innovation, coordination, and industry leadership.
