As is known, the publication of the document titled "White Paper on State of the Bangladesh Economy: Dissection of a Development Narrative" was received with great enthusiasm at home and abroad. However, the team of authors is often confronted with questions regarding how the findings and recommendations will be acted upon. The questions are pertinent given that the current economic situation remains afflicted with a number of challenges, the promised reform agenda is quite unsettled, and the projected medium-term outlook seems pretty hazy.

In view of these, the proposed event seeks to engage in a dialogue involving the key stakeholders and the policymakers in the context of the approaching national budget for 2025-26 and to generate shared perspectives and, if possible, an action agenda/ plan in this regard.

The White Paper Committee submitted the final report titled " White Paper on State of the Bangladesh Economy: Dissection of a Development Narrative" to the Hon'ble Chief Adviser at his Tejgaon office today. In a press release issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing, the committee expressed shock over the extent of corruption, misappropriation, and statistical manipulation revealed in their findings
