Background
Society for Humanitarian Assistance & Rights Protection –SHARP is an NGO established in 2002 with the initiation of a group of educated and energetic social workers. It has registered in January 6, 2004 from Social Welfare Directorate and started the journey towards its mission. The mission of the organization is to promote rural agriculture through assisting agro-based primary and se
condary formal and informal industries. The mission also includes promoting socio-economic and cultural status of the urban and rural poor and underprivileged people, emphasizing the poor women and children through sensitization, capacity building, institution building, capital formation, utilization of local resources and imparting felt-need based problem solving programs by adopting modern knowledge and technique through non-directive, bottom up, integrated and participatory developments. Since involvement, it has completed several development activities (projects) aiming the overall development of the related area in the concern issue and still working to fulfill its mission. Most notables are: campaign on breast-cancer, water and sanitation including water need assessment, assistance to maternity and lactating mothers’, smokeless oven, arsenic mitigation, HIV/AIDS, computer training and literacy etc. Mission and Vision of the Organization
Mission:
SHARP’s mission is to promote rural agriculture through assisting agro-based primary and secondary formal and informal industries as well as uplift the vulnerable group of the society to a resilience stage, massively contribute to build the green earth by the people and equitably empower the people to achieve sustainability In the development phenomena. Vision:
SHARP’s vision is to build a green Bangladesh where agriculture is restored as its main productive and revenue sector and eventually make Bangladesh a country without poverty where all will live in peace and dignity. To improve environmental condition protecting the natural hazards, deforestation, river erosion and so on natural calamities.
2. To encourage and supply training to the poor and unemployed people on poultry farming, fish cultivation and cultivation of vegetables and so on income generating activities to make them self-dependent.
3. To make the women conscious about their right, uplift their socio-economic condition, prevent the tourchers created on them, make them aware about their social right etc. To remove the unemployment, HIV/ AIDS, drag use, child labor etc problems.
4. To provide the knowledge of family planning, maternal and family health care to all the sections of people of Bangladesh.
5. To develop agricultural production by introducing new technologies.
6. To protect the endanger species of natural environment.
