Attackers can now plant phishing links inside your ChatGPT responses. And they look completely real.

The attack is called ChatGPhish. You ask ChatGPT to summarize a webpage. That page secretly contains attacker instructions. ChatGPT reads them and starts showing you fake alerts, phishing links and QR codes inside its own interface. Looking exactly like something ChatGPT itself generated.

You cannot tell the difference between a real response and an attacker controlled one.

Permiso Security reported this to OpenAl on April 29 using Bugcrowd. OpenAl marked it as a duplicate of previous

report.

Mitigations until patch:

- Avoid clicking links or scan QR codes inside Al summaries

Avoid asking ChatGPT to summarize user generated content

- Treat every alert inside a ChatGPT response as potentially attacker controlled

The attack does not hack ChatGPT. It just uses it as a weapon.

BREAKING: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is now threatening to target 18 major U.S. companies in the region—including Apple, Microsoft, Google, Tesla, Nvidia, and Boeing—if the U.S. continues what it calls “targeted assassinations” of Iranian leaders, with the warning set to take effect April 1.

The list spans some of the most critical pillars of the U.S. economy: Big Tech, defense contractors, and even financial institutions like J.P. Morgan. This marks another major escalation, shifting from direct military confrontation to potential economic and cyber warfare targeting American corporations and infrastructure.

This is a signal that the conflict is expanding beyond the battlefield and into global markets, supply chains, and everyday technology Americans rely on.

The full list of 18 US technology companies that Iran is threatening to target is below:

1. Cisco
2. HP
3. Intel
4. Oracle
5. Microsoft
6. Apple
7. Google
8. Meta
9. IBM
10. Dell

The country’s largest supermarket chain Shwapno has confirmed that hackers breached its customer database in December last year, demanding $1.5 million in ransom. The exposed data includes names, phone numbers and purchase histories of over 40 lakh registered customers. The ACI Limited subsidiary is working with domestic and international forensic experts and the CTTC unit to investigate the breach and strengthen its cyber defences.
