Lawofwomen.org is a tiny attempt to disseminate FREE comprehensive legal and general information for women, to develop an on-line information and knowledge based portal to secure their legal rights, to stop discrimination and all sort of violence against women where women will be treated equally, free from abuse, harassment, torture and violence by providing information and guidelines that a woman
, notwithstanding her personal/professional background, may needs to know. Hence, the signature objectives have been duly set along with primary goals; among others, to educate women about their legal rights and to empower them to reach their full potential in order for them to participate and contribute substantially in the social, political and economic development of their communities. Half of the population in the world are Women; unfortunately, majority of them are in vulnerable state, let alone exploring opportunities utilising their fullest potential. In 2013, a small group of lawyers headed by Barrister Liton Asaduzaman Sarkar initiated the project. Legal research and legal services are being conducted by the legal team on a pro-bono basis with no external aid/support, using own internal resources. Essentially, this is an online/web-based project, i.e. 24/7 technological support appears to be as important as legal services, which is expensive both in terms of deployment of IT infrastructure and IT services. Hence, a little contribution from you would make a huge difference to make this project successful. In addition, any NGO, Corporation, and institution, and individual (social worker, law student, any student, fresh graduate, researcher, lawyer, translator, paralegal, and clerk) may join this project.
