দর্শন, রাজনীতি ও সমাজতত্ত্ব, রাজনৈতিক অর্থনীতি, সংস্কৃতি , বিজ্ঞান-প্রযুক্তির আন্তঃশাস্ত্রীয় অধ্যয়ন এই কেন্দ্রের উদ্দ্যেশ্য।
কেন্দ্র এ উদ্দ্যেশ্যে বক্তৃতা , আলোচনা সভা, পত্রিকা প্রকাশ , পাঠ্চক্র ইত্যাদি আয়োজন করবে।
Through organizing and facilitating research, seminars, dialogues, teach-in’s, talk-series, workshops, study circles, inter-disciplinary event
s and other forms of public and social education, the Center works to deepen the understanding the local and global state of the affairs and contexts. In coming days, the Center will be offering workshops and courses on the following topics and areas:
-Global Studies ( Bengal studies, South Asia studies etc);
-Political Science (democracy and governance studies)
-Sustainable Security and Peace Studies(alternative regionalism);
-Political Economy ( ‘ global economy’, political economy of ‘development’ etc );
-Critical Philosophy ( Indian philosophy, philosophies from around the world)
-Psychoanalysis ( Introduction to psychoanalysis)
-Arts, Science and technology and Cultural Studies ( art theory and history, media and the politics of representation, feminisms etc)
– Political Ecology ( environment, sustainability, capitalism and ecological crisis)
These topics and areas are subject to be defined, prioritized and designed and redesigned according to the mutual needs and priorities of the Center community..................................................................
LOKOJ Center is an initiative of Lokoj Instititute, an activist research group which was active from 1999 to 2006. Another initiative of the group is the Center for Bangladesh Studies-CBS, a multi-issue think-tank working for a democratic and just Bangladesh and the world.
