If the British Empire had been properly partitioned in 1947, the map would have looked like this. Though it's an imagination, but it is dividing on the basis of religion and creating two countries, Pakistan and India, resulting in East Bengal becoming Pakistan and West Bengal becoming India. A nation was divided, but the Bengalis fell to the British in 1757 when they were united and then divided in 1947.Then in 1971, East Bengal became independent Bangladesh. But as a result of the partition of the country, the Bengalis lost a large part of their territory.
