This week, over 100 children get their full smiles back.
SAJIDA Foundation, in partnership with Smile Asia, Sarkari Karmachari Hospital and Dhaka Bank, has launched a 5-day international Medical Mission for children from underserved communities born with cleft lip and palate. The mission brings together 38 medical volunteers from 8 countries.
Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration, Md. Ismail Zabihullah, joined as Chief Guest. He shared: “I am proud to inaugurate this noble and humanitarian initiative. This mission will restore children's wellbeing, confidence, as well as ease their parents' worries. This mission is a reminder that humanitarian work knows no borders.”
The event was also joined by Md. Ehsanul Hoque, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration; Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Secretary, Health Services Division; Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC; Abhimanyu Talukdar, Secretary General of Smile Asia; Md. Fazlul Hoque, Deputy CEO of SAJIDA Foundation; along with representatives from SAJIDA Foundation, the hospital and Dhaka Bank.
Over 200 children registered for this year's mission and 100 are expected to undergo surgeries free of cost.
