This week, over 100 children get their full smiles back.

SAJIDA Foundation, in partnership with Smile Asia, Sarkari Karmachari Hospital and Dhaka Bank, has launched a 5-day international Medical Mission for children from underserved communities born with cleft lip and palate. The mission brings together 38 medical volunteers from 8 countries.

Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration, Md. Ismail Zabihullah, joined as Chief Guest. He shared: “I am proud to inaugurate this noble and humanitarian initiative. This mission will restore children's wellbeing, confidence, as well as ease their parents' worries. This mission is a reminder that humanitarian work knows no borders.”

The event was also joined by Md. Ehsanul Hoque, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration; Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Secretary, Health Services Division; Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC; Abhimanyu Talukdar, Secretary General of Smile Asia; Md. Fazlul Hoque, Deputy CEO of SAJIDA Foundation; along with representatives from SAJIDA Foundation, the hospital and Dhaka Bank.

Over 200 children registered for this year's mission and 100 are expected to undergo surgeries free of cost.

As rising concern around family planning makes headlines, we're off to a positive start for tackling it: today, Dhaka South City Corporation and SAJIDA Foundation signed an Expression of Interest to bring city-led, voluntary family planning solutions to Dhaka South.

The EOI was signed by Md. Jahirul Islam, CEO, DSCC, and Md. Fazlul Hoque, Deputy CEO, SAJIDA Foundation, at Nagar Bhaban in the presence of Dr Jahane Ferdous Binte Rahman, Chief Health Officer, DSCC, Dr Faria Foez, Assistant Health Officer, Health Department, and Dr Md. Nur Hossen, Assistant Health Officer at DSCC along with health officials and coaching teams from both parties.

TCI is an evidence-based, city-led model, enabling local governments to strengthen existing health systems through coaching, data-driven decision-making, and proven high impact interventions, rather than creating parallel programmes.

The CEO welcomed TCI’s evidence-based model and emphasised the need for sustained work on preventing early marriage and increasing youth engagement.

Together with City Corporations, we're working towards stronger city leadership, healthier families, and more resilient urban health systems to improve access to quality and voluntary reproductive health services.

As heavy rain and flooding grip the northeast and southeast regions of Bangladesh, our teams initiated response efforts in our working areas, Satkania and Chandanaish, Chattogram, distributing dry food to affected families in coordination with local government.

Our teams are also closely tracking the situation across the country, staying connected with field offices, local authorities, and partners to respond as needs evolve.

Experience of learning Mathematics is about to look different in 100 more schools across 7 districts in Bangladesh.

Following an order issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Khan Academy Bangladesh is scaling up - bringing digital tools, specialised modules, and teacher training to improve how Mathematics is delivered in the classroom.

Education is one of SAJIDA Foundation's core development priorities. Through initiatives like Khan Academy Bangladesh, we partner with the Government of Bangladesh and development partners to use technology to make learning more equitable, engaging, and effective for every child.
