At Betua, trained UNEP Tide Turners Plastic Challenge (TTPC) changemakers, trained through Probha Aurora, are ready to build on their experience and inspire their community to reduce plastic pollution, protect local waterways, and embrace sustainable practices.

Around 50 young leaders and volunteers took part throughout the day in our coastal cleanup, covering approximately 3 kilometres of coastal area in Char Fasson, Bhola, and collecting around 100 kg of waste, including plastic, sachet waste and discarded plastic nets.
After sorting, waste that could not be reused or repurposed was handed over to the Char Fasson Municipality Waste Management Department for proper disposal.

🌍💙 Think Blue | Call to Earth Day 2026

This 8 October 2026, Probha Aurora and Eco-Schools Bangladesh are joining CNN's Call to Earth Day 2026 under this year's theme, "Think Blue."

As part of our commitment to environmental action and education, we are organizing a coastal initiative in Bangladesh:

🐚 Litter Cleanup Programme – Bhola

A community-based coastal cleanup initiative to reduce litter and plastic pollution while raising awareness about the importance of protecting our coastal and marine ecosystems.

Through this activity, we hope to connect environmental education with meaningful community action and inspire young people to become responsible environmental stewards.

Guardians of Dhaka has now evolved from a project into a program. The inaugural session was successfully held at one of our partner schools, followed by the first special environmental session at another respected educational institution. Representatives from KIDC, a Korean environmental expert, along with distinguished guests, school headmasters, and teachers, also joined the sessions. With the aim of helping young learners better understand their country, appreciate its natural heritage, explore biodiversity, and develop a stronger sense of responsibility towards environmental and climate action, a special initiative has been launched today as part of Make A Difference Week and World Environment Day celebrations. We are pleased to introduce the program titled “Exploring Your Country Through the Lens of Environmental Restoration.” This initiative will engage selected students from Eco-Schools activities in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences across different regions of the country. Through field visits and interactions, participants will gain deeper insights into environmental systems, conservation efforts, and sustainability practices. The program will also provide opportunities to learn from experienced and inspiring individuals who are actively contributing to environmental protection and climate change adaptation and mitigation. We are honored that the program was officially inaugurated today by Emeritus Professor Dr. M. A. Sattar Mandal, who graciously launched this initiative and extended his valuable support. We look forward to an impactful journey of learning, exploration, and environmental stewardship.

A meaningful and engaging celebration of Make A Difference Week and World Environment Day brought together students, youth, educators, and conservation experts in a shared journey of environmental learning and action. The program featured biodiversity exploration, expert-led discussions, and field-based activities focusing on native plant species, urban ecology, and environmental restoration. Participants had the opportunity to observe, learn, and reflect on the importance of protecting local ecosystems and restoring natural balance. Through interactive quizzes and creative assignments involving photo and video documentation, participants were encouraged to express their understanding and perspectives in innovative ways. Overall, the initiative created a powerful platform for experiential learning, collaboration, and environmental awareness- making the celebration both impactful and inspiring.
