The Global SDG Youth Summit team expresses its deepest sympathy and solidarity with the people and communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the families who have lost their loved ones, while our thoughts remain with those who are missing, displaced, injured, or awaiting news of their families. We also recognize the courage of rescue workers, volunteers, humanitarian responders, and local communities working tirelessly amid extremely difficult circumstances.

As a youth-led platform committed to the Sustainable Development Goals, climate action, and resilient communities, we believe moments like this call for compassion, solidarity, and collective action. Disasters may cross borders, but so must our humanity.

From Bangladesh a country deeply familiar with the devastating impacts of floods and climate-related disasters, we stand with the people of Nepal and Tibet during this difficult time.

May those who are missing be found, those affected receive the support they need, and the affected communities find strength to recover and rebuild.

Our Second Step in Standing with Flood-Affected Communities — Free Health Camp in Chakaria

On 20 July 2026, at the Peace Centre in Chakaria Upazila, Cox's Bazar, we successfully organized the second health camp of our five-day Free Health Care and Mental Health Support Initiative for flood-affected communities.

This camp was coordinated and hosted by Witness Foundation, whose dedicated leadership, strong local coordination, and tireless volunteers made it possible to bring essential healthcare services directly to people affected by the floods.

During the camp, more than one hundred community members received: Free medical consultations, Essential medicines, Maternal and child healthcare advice, Health awareness services, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

In the aftermath of a disaster, timely access to healthcare becomes one of the most urgent needs. Guided by this belief, we remained committed to standing beside affected communities. The warmth, resilience, and cooperation of the people of Chakaria inspired us to continue this humanitarian journey.

We sincerely thank all of our valued partners for making this initiative possible: Cox's Bazar–Chakaria–Pekua Samity, Witness Foundation, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA), ISDE Bangladesh, Change Initiative, PPS, Alvi-Manowara Foundation, Cox's Bazar Medical and Dental Students' Association (CMDSA), IMCEN Bangladesh, Pahartali Eye Hospital, Rajakhali Open Library, and Professor Dr. Sadikul Islam.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our dedicated volunteer doctors, medical students, youth volunteers, and the local community of Chakaria. Your commitment, compassion, and collective effort made this initiative a success.

This was the second chapter of our five-day humanitarian response. Through this continued effort, we ultimately reached 1,200 people across flood-affected communities in Cox's Bazar with free medical care, essential medicines, and mental health support.

Standing with people in times of crisis is not just our responsibility—it is our commitment.

The first step after the flood was bringing healthcare to people's doorsteps.

On 19 July 2026, we launched the first day of our five-day Free Health Camp and Mental Health Support Initiative in KawarKhop Union, Ramu Upazila, Cox's Bazar, reaching flood-affected families with essential healthcare services.

Our team provided free medical consultations, essential medicines, maternal and child health support, health awareness services, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to communities that had been severely impacted by the floods. The warmth, resilience, and cooperation of the local community made this initiative even more meaningful.

This humanitarian effort would not have been possible without the generous support and collaboration of Young Power in Social Action (YPSA), Cox's Bazar–Chakaria–Pekua Samity, Witness Foundation, Change Initiative, PPS, ISDE Bangladesh, Alvi-Monowara Foundation, Cox's Bazar Medical and Dental Students' Association (CMDSA), IMCEN Bangladesh, Pahartali Eye Hospital, Rajakhali Open Library, and Professor Dr. Sadikul Islam.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our dedicated volunteer doctors, medical students, youth volunteers, and the people of Ramu for their unwavering commitment and hospitality. Your collective efforts made this response possible.

This was the first chapter of our five-day humanitarian journey, which ultimately enabled us to provide healthcare services to more than 1,200 flood-affected people across Cox's Bazar.

In times of crisis, compassionate action reminds us that healthcare is not only about treatment it is about standing beside people when they need it most.

Continuous heavy rainfall has triggered landslides in several areas of Cox's Bazar and the Chattogram Division. We urge everyone, especially those living in hilly and landslide-prone areas, to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

✅ Avoid staying near hillsides or unstable slopes.
✅ Evacuate immediately if local authorities issue warnings.
✅ Stay updated through official weather forecasts and emergency announcements.
✅ Keep emergency contacts, essential medicines, drinking water, and important documents ready.
✅ Help children, older adults, and persons with disabilities reach safer places if needed.
