Md Abu Rahath, Manager Sustainability & Climate Innovation of Envolead Ltd, proudly participated in Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center presents Running with Purpose 2026, held at Hatirjheel on 24 April. Now in its eighth successful year, the event has become one of Bangladesh’s most inspiring youth-focused fitness initiatives, bringing together thousands in a shared commitment to health, purpose, and community spirit.

This year’s edition featured both the classic 7.5K route and an extended 15K challenge, encouraging participants of all levels to embrace endurance, discipline, and healthy living. Aligned with the 2026 theme, “Healthy Youth, Stronger Nation,” the program highlighted the importance of youth well-being in building a resilient and progressive Bangladesh.

As lifestyle-related health concerns continue to rise, such initiatives remind society to prioritize physical activity, mental wellness, and positive habits. Participation in this event also supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Envolead Ltd. held a constructive and forward-looking meeting with Narayanganj City Corporation to advance key partnership areas, including integrated waste management, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) solutions, climate technology adoption, and capacity building initiatives. The discussion also emphasized stakeholder training and the development of a strong knowledge base to ensure long-term impact. The engagement concluded on a highly positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to collaboration. A shared vision emerged to position Narayanganj as a model climate-resilient city, delivering innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions to address the growing challenges of climate change effectively.

We had the privilege of an impactful meeting with Sohel Ahmed at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). It was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from his extensive experience, and explore meaningful avenues for collaboration.

With over 15 years of leadership in renewable energy, strategy, and operations, Sohel Ahmed has played a transformative role in advancing sustainable energy solutions in Bangladesh. During his nearly decade-long tenure as Managing Director at Grameen Shakti, he led large-scale clean energy and social impact initiatives, significantly contributing to rural electrification and sustainable development.

His previous leadership roles at Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Ltd. and within the Rahimafrooz Group further reflect his strength in strategic planning, operational excellence, and business growth. His contribution as Director at Rural Service Foundation underscores a deep commitment to community development.

The Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) and Envolead Ltd. have entered into a strategic partnership to advance climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and the adoption of innovative technology solutions across Bangladesh.

The agreement was formalised at CEGIS headquarters in Dhaka on 16 March 2026.

Under the partnership, CEGIS will leverage its research and technical expertise, while Envolead will contribute its climate technology initiatives. Joint projects will focus on climate adaptation, water resource management, WASH, sustainable infrastructure, and community empowerment.

The collaboration will facilitate operational linkages and knowledge exchange to design and implement climate and sustainability initiatives, targeting measurable environmental, social, and economic outcomes.

The partnership will further strengthen technical capacity, drive innovation, and promote knowledge transfer through joint research, pilot programmes, training, and advanced technology applications, supporting climate-resilient and sustainable development.

Md Motaleb Hossain Sarker, Executive Director (Acting) of CEGIS; Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Chief Specialist and Director of the Remote Sensing Division; and Rakshanda Mabin, Associate Specialist, were present at the signing ceremony.

The partnership aims to combine CEGIS’s research and technical expertise with Envolead’s climate technology initiatives to jointly develop projects in areas such as climate adaptation, water resource management, WASH, sustainable infrastructure, and community empowerment.

The signing ceremony was attended by Md. Motaleb Hossain Sarker, Executive Director (Acting), Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Chief Specialist, and Rakshanda Mabin, Associate Specialist from CEGIS.
