In Bangladesh, millions of girls face a hidden battle 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇

1. Only 10% of adolescent girls can access sanitary pads regularly.
2. More than 80% of girls and women use unhygienic alternatives like reused cloth, risking infections and compromising their health every single month.
3. 41% of schoolgirls miss classes during their periods, losing out on education that could shape their future.

For too many, sanitary pads remain unaffordable, leaving them vulnerable, embarrassed, and forced to choose between their health and their education/work.

This is not just a health issue; it’s a human rights issue.
Every girl deserves to feel safe, confident, and empowered during her periods.

Project "অরোধ্য" is stepping up to end this cycle of poverty, to ensure that no girl is held back by something so basic. We believe that menstrual products should never be a luxury—they are a necessity.

Due to unavoidable circumstances, Toru had to take a break...

আমরা যখন কোনো পরিষ্কার জায়গায় ঘুরতে যাই কিংবা কোনো পরিষ্কার জায়গা দেখি তখন আমাদের সবার মনে একটি আক্ষেপের সৃষ্টি হয়, “কেন আমাদের দেশ এত পরিষ্কার না?” অথবা “কেন আমাদের এলাকা এত পরিষ্কার না?” তাই না?

কিন্তু নিজেদের দেশ কিংবা এলাকা পরিষ্কার রাখার জন্য আমরা আসলে কী করি? নিজেরা কী নির্দিষ্ট স্থানে ময়লা ফেলছি? নাকি রাস্তাতেই ফেলে দিচ্ছি হাতে থাকা প্যাকেটগুলো?

আমাদের আশেপাশের পরিচিত মানুষদের কী আমরা সচেতন করছি, সঠিক স্থানে ময়লা ফেলার জন্য?

তরু সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে, আজকে থেকে সে রাস্তায় কোন ময়লা ফেলবে না। তরু চায়, অন্যান্য দেশের মতো তার দেশের মানুষকেও বিশ্ব জানুক এক “পরিষ্কার জাতি” হিসেবে। তোমরা সবাই তরুকে সাহায্য করবে তো এই স্বপ্ন পূরণে?

তাহলে আজকে থেকেই চলো শুরু করি?

“ময়লা ফেলব নির্দিষ্ট স্থানে, থাকবে পরিবেশ স্বস্তিতে”

"We are thrilled to announce that Bangladesh has become the first country to launch a cartoon character, "Toru তরু," aimed at creating massive awareness and inspiring behavioral change toward our Mother Earth.

Toru, with her captivating stories and impactful campaigns, will make an effort to teach everyone about our responsibilities as individuals and citizens toward the environment. Her narrative will not only delve into climate change but also address crucial aspects like women's health and 5 basic human rights.

Let's joyfully welcome the world's first animated character dedicated to raising awareness for Mother Earth, our Environment after the famous figure ‘Mina’ - ‘Toru, the Daughter of the Earth ‘ 🌍✨"
