World Heart Federation এর তথ্য মতে হৃদরোগে আক্রান্ত প্রায় অর্ধেক শিশুর রোগ জন্মের সময় শনাক্ত হয় না। এ বিষয়ে অধ্যাপক ডাঃ তওফিক শাহরিয়ার হক বলেন-

জন্মগত হৃদরোগ সময়মতো চিকিৎসা করলে সম্পূর্ণ স্বাভাবিক জীবন যাপন করা সম্ভব। স্কুলে ভর্তির আগেই আপনার সন্তানের ব্যাপারে বিশেষজ্ঞের পরামর্শ নিন- তার সুস্থ ভবিষ্যত নিশ্চিত করুন।
