Dr. Kabir began his academic career at his alma mater, serving first as a Lecturer and later as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial & Production Engineering, BUET.

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚
After completing his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with specialization in Infrastructure Management, he continued his academic journey as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Course Instructor at UBC.

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐨𝐫
He subsequently joined the University of Windsor as an Assistant Professor, contributing to its Industrial Engineering program.

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚
In 2019, Dr. Kabir joined the University of Regina as an Assistant Professor of Industrial Systems Engineering. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022 and to Full Professor in 2025.
He also served as Program Chair of Industrial Systems Engineering from 2021 to 2025, contributing to curriculum development, program growth, accreditation, student engagement, and academic leadership.

𝐊𝐅𝐔𝐏𝐌, 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐚
Since 2025, he has been serving as a Visiting Faculty in Industrial and Systems Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), expanding his international teaching and research collaborations.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 & 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Dr. Kabir’s research focuses on risk, reliability and resilience assessment, infrastructure management, decision analysis under risk and uncertainty, supply chain management, sustainable systems analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

He has authored more than 200 journal and conference publications and has contributed to numerous externally funded research projects in areas including resilient infrastructure, sustainable supply chains, energy systems, transportation, and decision analytics.

His research contributions have also earned international recognition, including being listed among the world’s top 2% of scientists.

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩
Beyond his own research, Dr. Kabir has supervised and mentored a large number of doctoral, master’s, postdoctoral, research associate, and visiting researchers. His academic work has helped develop highly qualified professionals working across academia, industry, and research organizations.

𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚
Dr. Kabir is actively involved in international conferences, multidisciplinary research collaborations, editorial activities, student mentoring, and initiatives that strengthen academic and professional networks.

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲
His journey reflects continuous learning, research excellence, collaborative leadership, mentorship, innovation, and the application of systems thinking to solve complex real-world challenges.

Dr. Kabir’s career demonstrates how an IPE graduate can build a global academic career and create meaningful impact through research, education, leadership, and international collaboration.

With this vision in mind, Association of Industrial & Production Engineers - AIPE, BUET, in collaboration with SpikeStory, proudly hosted an insightful seminar on 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌 𝐀𝐈 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬, bringing together students, industry professionals, and creative minds under one roof.

The session explored the growing possibilities of Artificial Intelligence in the creative industry, highlighting how AI can transform ideas into impactful advertisements, short films, music videos, fashion concepts, and much more.

Adding further value to the session, our esteemed speakers shared their experiences, perspectives, and practical insights on the evolving AI landscape, inspiring participants to look beyond conventional boundaries and experiment with new forms of creativity.

🌤️ শরৎদিনে মেঘবিহার — Powered by ZSRM, a little day we’ll remember for a long, long time. 💙

After almost two years, we finally got to have a picnic together again. What started as an event planned within a very short time turned into a day filled with laughter, memories, little moments, and stories we’ll probably keep talking about in perpetuity.

Putting everything together so quickly was definitely challenging — from managing sponsorships and logistics to arranging the gameshow, raffle draw, food, and everything in between. Not everything could go perfectly, but perhaps that’s what made the day even more real and memorable. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who came, participated, laughed, played, and made the day what it was. Your presence was the heart of শরৎদিনে মেঘবিহার.

And an even bigger THANK YOU to everyone who worked behind the scenes — those who planned, coordinated, managed, solved problems, and especially those who spent the entire day running around, taking care of one responsibility after another, often putting the event before their own comfort.
