“Service Above Self” — a timeless commitment that continues to guide our journey of fellowship, leadership, and meaningful community service.

The Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous successfully convened its 278th Regular Meeting at the All Community Club, Gulshan-1, Dhaka, bringing together dedicated Rotarians for an evening of meaningful discussions, constructive dialogue, fellowship, and forward-looking planning.

The meeting provided an excellent platform to review our ongoing activities, assess progress, discuss upcoming initiatives, and take necessary decisions to further strengthen the Club’s service and organizational activities.

🔹 Key Discussions & Decisions

👁️ 1. Eye Care Service Project – Chandpur

As part of our continued commitment to healthcare and humanitarian service, the Club is preparing to organize an Eye Care Service Project on 16 October 2026 in Chandpur.

The initiative aims to provide essential eye-care services to members of the local community, particularly those who may have limited access to quality eye-care facilities. We look forward to making this project a meaningful contribution to the health and well-being of the community.

🏛️ 2. Upcoming Regular Meeting at Banani Club

The members discussed and agreed that the upcoming Regular Meeting will be hosted at Banani Club, providing another opportunity for fellowship, engagement, and meaningful exchange among our members.

📌 3. Club Affairs & Future Activities

Various ongoing Club activities, upcoming programs, administrative matters, and future initiatives were discussed in detail. Members shared their valuable views and suggestions and agreed on necessary actions to ensure effective implementation of the Club’s plans and projects.

Beyond the formal agenda, the meeting was also a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, connection, and strengthening the bonds among Rotarians.

Board Meeting & 277th Regular Meeting | Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous 💙

“Service Above Self” — a commitment that continues to guide our journey of fellowship, service, and community impact.

The Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous successfully convened its Board Meeting and 277th Regular Meeting at Grace 21 Smart Hotel, Nikunja 2, Dhaka.

The evening brought together our dedicated Rotarians for meaningful discussions, constructive dialogue, and thoughtful planning for the months ahead. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to review the Club’s ongoing activities, assess progress, discuss upcoming initiatives, and strengthen our collective commitment to serving the community.

🔹 Key Discussions & Decisions

1. Review of Club Accounts
The financial accounts of the Club were discussed and reviewed in detail. The Board and members had constructive discussions regarding the financial position and related matters. The accounts will be formally placed for approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to be held at the end of November 2026.

2. Eye Care Service Project – Chandpur 👁️
As part of our commitment to community healthcare and humanitarian service, the Club is preparing to organize an Eye Care Project on 16 October 2026 in Chandpur. The project aims to extend essential eye-care services to members of the community who may have limited access to such facilities.

3. MOU with Prime Bank Eye Hospital
The meeting also discussed the proposed collaboration with Prime Bank Eye Hospital. An MOU will be signed to establish a framework for cooperation and support for eye-care initiatives and related service activities. This partnership is expected to strengthen the Club’s capacity to deliver meaningful and sustainable healthcare services.

4. Club Affairs & Future Activities
Various other regular Club affairs, ongoing activities, upcoming programs, and administrative matters were discussed. Members exchanged views and agreed on necessary actions to ensure the smooth implementation of the Club’s plans and projects.

This evening, Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous convened its 276th Regular Meeting, bringing together fellowship, purposeful discussion, and a shared commitment to Rotary’s mission.

A key highlight of the meeting was hosting a special guest as part of the Club’s membership growth initiative, alongside meaningful discussions on strengthening ongoing club activities and advancing our service project action plans for successful implementation.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by warm fellowship among Rotarians—reflecting the spirit of “Service Above Self.”

275th Regular Meeting of Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous !

A Rotary Club regular meeting is always an opportunity for fellowship, learning, sharing experiences, welcoming guests, and exploring opportunities for collaboration across Rotary’s five avenues of service.

The 275th Regular Meeting of Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous was held on Sunday, 16 August 2026, at Rajaniganda Lounge, Gulshan Club, Dhaka.

We were delighted to welcome Veteran Rotarian Rtn. Imran Momin, Senior Coordinator – Fellowship, D64, RIPSA Bangladesh, who shared his valuable Rotary journey and experiences in community service projects.

The members also enjoyed a highly interactive learning session on Artificial Intelligence—how AI works, its impact on professional and business life, and its future implications, conducted by Rtn. PP Redwan Rahman , PHF, FCA, FCMA, CGMA, Partner, EY Member Firm in Bangladesh, and Club Learning Facilitator.

The Club also welcomed and inducted Mr. Debashish Chhandra Das, working in Bangladesh hospitality industry, into the Rotary family and introduced him to the spirit of “Service Above Self.”

The meeting also celebrated our PHF and MPHF members, with RI recognition certificates and pins presented, along with anniversary and birthday greetings to our Rotary family member Rtn PP Md. Abdur Rahim., PHF Club Charter Secretary and spouse of current Club Secretary.

Above all, it was an evening of glorious fellowship, learning, sharing, caring and collective professional development. ❤️

Rotary Membership Seminar 2026 | Growing Rotary, Strengthening Communities

Rotary International has set a bold milestone goal to grow its worldwide membership to 1.25 million Rotarians by July 1, 2030, coinciding with Rotary’s 125th anniversary.

In line with this ambitious goal, RIPSA Bangladesh (Rotary Districts 64 & 65) organised a timely and highly commendable “Rotary Membership Seminar 2026” today, August 8, 2026, from afternoon to evening at the BIAM Auditorium, Eskaton, Dhaka.

The Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous proudly participated in the seminar with five members, including a newly inducted Rotarian. It was indeed an excellent opportunity for learning, sharing experiences and developing practical strategies for the recruitment, engagement and retention of quality members and community leaders.

The seminar covered five important sessions:

1. Rotary Membership: Legacy & Future

2. Strategies for Attracting New Members – including a live dramatization/mock session on new-member induction

3. Rotary Initiative on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

4. Best Practices for Engaging Members

5. Creating a Strong Club Culture – managing and engaging club members through online tools and My Rotary

The presentations and discussions were highly informative, practical and knowledge-enhancing. The learning from these sessions can be effectively applied by Rotary clubs to strengthen club management, improve member engagement and build a sustainable membership base.

Personally, I found the sessions extremely useful and relevant. Due to time limitations, however, it was not possible to present all the slides and materials to the audience.

🙏 Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the organisers, speakers, facilitators and volunteers for arranging such a meaningful and timely seminar. Your commitment and efforts towards strengthening Rotary membership are truly appreciated.

The Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous successfully hosted its Board Meeting, followed by the 274th Regular Club Meeting, this evening with high spirits, active fellowship, and strong commitment to service!

Here are the key highlights from our discussions shaping the Rotary Year 2026-27:

Environmental Leadership: Successfully completed tree plantation projects across 4 locations, planting 500+ saplings!

Community Health: Advanced plans for our upcoming Eye Camp Projects to serve those in need.

Growing Our Family: Approved the induction of a dynamic new member to strengthen our club!

Smooth Governance & Impact: Reviewed treasury activities, service projects, and coordinated with the Assistant Coordinator of RIPSA D64 for seamless monthly reporting and RI Portal goal tracking.
