Date: 18/July/2026

There was a time when these children only thought about surviving. Today, they have started dreaming of a brighter future.

The Kallyanmoyee Nari Sangha Children's Shelter is a remarkable example of compassion, resilience, and social transformation.

Its President, Ms. Rina Akter, was trafficked into a brothel at the age of just eight after being betrayed by a relative. Despite growing up in unimaginable hardship, she chose not to let her past define her. Instead, she dedicated her life to improving the lives of women and children living in similar circumstances.

Since 2024, under her leadership, Kallyanmoyee Nari Sangha has been operating a safe 41-bed shelter and learning center for the children of floating s*x workers in Dhaka. The shelter currently provides a secure home for 41 children. Among them, 21 attend two nearby government primary schools, while the remaining children receive daily education at the shelter from three dedicated teachers. The children are provided with four nutritious meals a day, along with a safe place to live, learn, and grow.

When Ms. Rina Akter appealed for public support to meet the basic needs of these marginalized children, her story was featured in a national newspaper. She reached out to the Rotary Club of Banani Dhaka with a request for school uniforms for the children.

Rotary Club of Banani Dhaka was honored to extend a helping hand.

Providing new school uniforms brought joy and renewed confidence to these children. More importantly, it encouraged them to attend school with dignity and enthusiasm, strengthening their commitment to education.

Our club remains committed to standing beside these children because every child deserves the opportunity not only to survive but to dream, to learn, and to build a better future.

One year ago, Tahsin joined our Healing Session at Chuti Resort, Purbachal Chuti group, alongside fellow students from his school, Uttara Milestone School. It was a day dedicated to healing, hope, and helping young minds regain their confidence after a difficult time.

Today, seeing Tahsin smiling, growing, and moving forward reminds us that even a single day of care, compassion, and connection can leave a lasting impact.

The healing journey continues long after the event ends, living on in the hearts and lives of the students we served.

This is the true power of Rotary, turning compassion into action and creating hope that lasts.

Healing hearts. Inspiring hope. Building stronger futures.

Sub: Regular Weekly Meeting (RWM #1319)
Date: 25/July/2026, Saturday
Time: 5:30pm

Our Regular Weekly Meeting was held on 25/July/2026 in a spirit of service, fellowship, and meaningful discussion.

During the meeting, members discussed several important club matters, including:
🔹 Progress of the SAD Collection
🔹 Proposal for increasing the SAD contribution
🔹 Strengthening our social media presence and assigning responsibilities for regular updates

A special highlight of the evening was a presentation by our Club President, Rtn. Sharif Ullah, who recently visited the The Rotary Club of Singapore. He shared his valuable experiences, key learnings and insights from the fellowship, including the memorable club banner exchange that further strengthened international Rotary friendship.

The evening became even more heartwarming as we welcomed several underprivileged children who received 30 school bags from our club. It was wonderful to see them again as they joined us for light evening snacks, sharing smiles, conversations, and precious moments of love and care. These simple moments remind us that Rotary is not only about projects but it is about building relationships, spreading kindness, and creating lasting hope.

The meeting concluded with fellowship over refreshments, reinforcing the bonds of friendship that unite us in our shared commitment to Service Above Self.

💙 Together, we serve. Together, we care. Together, we make a difference.

Sub: A Joyful Journey to School Begins with a Smile 💙
Date: 25/July/2026

Yesterday, during our regular weekly meeting, we were delighted to welcome a group of children from "Shishuder Jonno Aamra", a community-based child rehabilitation organization. Their cheerful presence brought warmth and joy to our Rotary fellowship.

Although the new academic year began six months ago, children like Fatema, Rahat, Naeem, Abdullah, Moni and many others were still attending school with old and worn-out school bags. To bring smiles to their faces and support their educational journey, Rotary Club of Banani Dhaka proudly presented 30 brand-new school bags to these wonderful children.

Following the distribution, we spent quality time together and enjoyed evening snacks with the children. Their laughter, excitement, and gratitude reminded us that even a simple act of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

We firmly believe that together we can build a safer, brighter, and more promising childhood for every child.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Ms. Hazera Begum, President of Shishuder Jonno Aamra ( https://www.facebook.com/share/1DLRxcqCDX/ ), and her dedicated team for their unwavering commitment to children's welfare and rehabilitation. Creating smiles and supporting children's rights are at the heart of Rotary's mission.

A special thank you to our fellow member and club project director (2026-27) Rtn. Shahnaz Sharmeen for her thoughtful initiative and dedication in making this meaningful project possible.

Service Above Self. 💛

A Memorable Rotary Evening in Singapore 🇸🇬🤝🇧🇩

Rotary truly knows no borders.

On 22/July/2026, our President, Rtn. Md. Sharif Ullah, had the privilege of attending the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of The Rotary Club of Singapore, where he was warmly welcomed by President Rtn. Rajkumar Perumal Suppiah and fellow Rotarians from Singapore and several other countries.

A special highlight of the evening was the Club Banner Exchange, symbolizing the enduring friendship and fellowship between our two clubs. 🇸🇬🤝🇧🇩

During the meeting, our President delivered a brief introductory speech and had the opportunity to interact with the Club's leadership, including the Immediate Past President, the Last Vice President, senior Rotarian Rtn. Mr. Mansur, the Sergeant-at-Arms, the Public Image team and many distinguished members. Their hospitality, warmth, and dedication to Rotary were truly inspiring.

The meeting itself was highly interactive, engaging, and full of learning. One of the most thought-provoking sessions explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help create new formulas for value creation, demonstrating how innovation and technology can strengthen service, leadership, and community impact.

The fellowship continued with a lively quiz session followed by a delightful dinner, where Rotarians from different cultures and countries shared ideas, experiences, and laughter, making it a truly unforgettable Rotary evening.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of The Rotary Club of Singapore for their warm hospitality and for giving our President the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring gathering.

May this friendship continue to grow stronger in the years ahead. We look forward to building lasting fellowship and, hopefully, collaborating on meaningful international service projects that reflect our shared Rotary values and common interests.

Together, through fellowship and service, we create hope, strengthen communities, and make a lasting impact across the world.
