FAO invites organizations at national, regional and international levels - including research institutions, governments, private sector actors, farmers’ organizations and civil society - to submit replicable and adaptable case studies on Fruits and Vegetables.
Submissions may address agronomic, biological, nutritional, socioeconomic or environmental aspects of fruits and vegetables value chains. Both proven practices with measurable impact and promising innovations with strong potential are welcome.

জাতিসংঘের খাদ্য ও কৃষি সংস্থা (FAO) এবং প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তর (DPE) যৌথভাবে ম্যাকগভার্ন–ডোল স্কুল ফিডিং কর্মসূচির আওতায় হবিগঞ্জ জেলার মাধবপুর উপজেলা পরিষদ হলরুমে লিটল এগ্রিকালচারিস্ট ক্লাব (LAC) ট্রেনিং ম্যানুয়াল ভ্যালিডেশন ওরিয়েন্টেশন আয়োজন করে, যার মাধ্যমে প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ভিত্তিক সবজি বাগান কার্যক্রম আরও কার্যকরভাবে বাস্তবায়নের ভিত্তি তৈরি করা হচ্ছে।

লিটল এগ্রিকালচারিস্ট ক্লাব (LAC) একটি স্কুলভিত্তিক উদ্যোগ, যেখানে শিক্ষার্থীরা স্কুল বাগানের মাধ্যমে কৃষিকাজ, পুষ্টি এবং পরিবেশ সম্পর্কে হাতে-কলমে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে, যা তাদের পুষ্টি সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি এবং টেকসই খাদ্য ব্যবস্থার ধারণা গড়ে তুলতে সহায়তা করে।

এই কর্মশালায় উপজেলার সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষক, প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তর, কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তর (DAE), প্রাণিসম্পদ অধিদপ্তর (DLS) এবং উন্নয়ন সহযোগী সংস্থা CNRS, Room to Read, WFP ও FAO-এর প্রতিনিধিরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

এই কর্মশালার মাধ্যমে “Little Agriculturist Club (LAC) Manual” সংশ্লিষ্ট অংশীজনদের মতামতের ভিত্তিতে পর্যালোচনা ও যাচাই করা হয় এবং বিদ্যালয় পর্যায়ে এর কার্যকর বাস্তবায়নের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করা হয়।

FAO and the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) jointly organized a validation and orientation workshop on the Little Agriculturist Club (LAC) training manual in Madhabpur, Habiganj, under the USDA-funded McGovern-Dole School Feeding Programme, supporting more effective implementation of school-based vegetable gardening activities.

The Little Agriculturist Club (LAC) is a school-based initiative that enables students to learn about agriculture, nutrition and the environment through hands-on activities such as school gardening, helping build awareness on sustainable food systems from an early age.

The workshop brought together head teachers, representatives from DPE, the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Department of Livestock Services (DLS), and partners including CNRS, Room to Read, WFP and FAO.

The session focused on reviewing and validating the LAC manual and strengthening understanding on its implementation at the school level.

আজ, বাংলাদেশ কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয় ‘ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইয়ার অফ দ্য ওমেন ফারমার ২০২৬’ পর্যবেক্ষণের উদ্দেশ্যে বাংলাদেশ কৃষি গবেষণা কাউন্সিল (BARC)-এ অনুষ্ঠিত আন্তঃসংস্থা সমন্বয় কমিটি (IACC)-এর সভায় আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে “নারী কৃষকের আন্তর্জাতিক বর্ষ ২০২৬ (IYWF)” এর উদ্বোধন ঘোষণা করে।

কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয়ের নেতৃত্বে, জাতিসংঘের খাদ্য ও কৃষি সংস্থা, জাতিসংঘের রোমভিত্তিক সংস্থাসমূহ (IFAD ও WFP), এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট অংশীজনদের সমন্বয়ে এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উদ্যোগটি দেশের খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা, জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা এবং কৃষি রূপান্তরে নারী কৃষকদের নেতৃত্বে উন্নীত করার জন্য একটি সম্মিলিত অঙ্গীকারের প্রতিফলন।

রফিকুল ই মোহামেদ, মাননীয় সচিব, কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয় ও -IACC এর সভাপতি এবং জিয়াকুন শি, বাংলাদেশে এফএও প্রতিনিধি ও IACC-এর সহ-সভাপতি আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে IYWF ২০২৬ উপলক্ষে বছরব্যাপী কার্যক্রমের সূচনা ঘোষণা করেন। আন্তঃসংস্থা সহযোগিতা জোরদারের মাধ্যমে এই কমিটি বছরব্যাপী বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি পরিকল্পনা করবে, যা নারী কৃষকদের সহায়তা, ক্ষমতায়ন এবং বিনিয়োগ নিশ্চিত করবে এবং টেকসই ও খাদ্যনিরাপদ সমাজ গঠনে তাদের নেতৃত্ব প্রতিষ্ঠা করবে।

জাতিসংঘের সাধারণ পরিষদ (UNGA) ২০২৬ সালকে নারী কৃষকের আন্তর্জাতিক বর্ষ হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেছে। টেকসই কৃষি ও খাদ্য ব্যবস্থায় নারী কৃষকদের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা স্বীকার করে এই উদ্যোগটি অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক নীতিমালা, সম্পদে সমান প্রবেশাধিকার এবং তাদের অবদানের যথাযথ স্বীকৃতির প্রয়োজনীয়তাকে গুরুত্ব দেয়।

The Ministry of Agriculture officially launched activities of the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026 (IYWF) today during the Interagency Coordination Committee (IACC) meeting at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC).

Led by the Ministry of Agriculture, along with FAO Bangladesh, UN’s Rome based agencies (International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)& World Food Programme in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, USDA and other relevant stakeholders, this event reflects a united commitment to elevate women farmers as leaders of food security, climate resilience and agricultural transformation across the country.

Rafiqul I Mohamed​, honorable Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, and Chair of the IACC along with Jiaoqun Shi, FAO Representative in Bangladesh and IACC Co-chair, officially graced the kickstart of yearlong initiatives to observe IYWF​ 2026. Through strengthened interagency collaboration, the committee is set to coordinate planning and oversee implementation of initiatives that will support, empower, and invest in women farmers ensuring their leadership in building resilient and food-secure communities.

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) declared 2026 as International Year of the Woman Farmer recognizing the vital role of women farmers in sustainable agriculture and food systems. The IYWF highlights the need for inclusive policies, equal access to resources, and stronger recognition of woman farmer’s contributions.
