…I think it was our most successful visit to date. The focus on teaching and mentorship was an important positive shift. The residents from both Aga Khan Hospital and Muhimbili were so engaged and clearly enjoyed the opportunity for hands on learning. And as you may have heard, it was standing room only at the CME event with 100+ MD’s and great case discussions.

With gratitude for our partnership and best wishes for the New Year,
Dr Andrea Pusic, MD, MHS, FACS, FRCSC

Chief, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Director, Patient-Reported Outcome, Value & Experience (PROVE) Center

ONE REASON TO DONATE TODAY, ON GIVING TUESDAY:
Please help us provide more little girls like NTEKUNI access to desperately needed surgical care.

NTEKUNI survived a tragic fire that took the life of her baby brother and destroyed her home. She suffered disfiguring burns that left her unable to turn her head and with one arm completely sealed to the side of her body.

This video is of NTEKUNI seeing her father for the first time back in their Samburu village after receiving reconstructive surgery during the RWI Mombasa Surgical Camp in 2018.

Giggling, she shows her father how she can now move her head and freely raise her arms for the first time in years thanks to the successful surgery.

Your amazing support helps us to provide reconstructive surgery to girls like NTEKUNI who simply have no access to the care they need. Together we can change even more lives around the world.
LET’S MAKE SOMETHING GOOD HAPPEN IN 2020.

PS. Thanks to the kindness of donors, Aga Khan Hospital, and , NTEKUNI is now studying in boarding school.
