জীবনে বন্ধু অনেক জরুরি। আর ভালো বন্ধু; সে তো পুরো একটা জীবনের অন্যতম অর্জন। আমার সেইসব ভালো বন্ধুদের সাথে মিলে একটা শর্টফিল্ম বানিয়েছিলাম। কোন একদিন সেই উন্মাদনার সেই সৃষ্টির গল্প শেয়ার করবো।

🎓 Professor Jude William Jenilo, Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and Chairman of Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network (CJEN), visited the Department of Journalism and Media Studies today (18 May 2026) for an insightful discussion regarding CJEN membership and future collaboration opportunities.

During the visit, Professor Jenilo also engaged in an open-ended discussion session with JMS students, where they exchanged ideas on journalism education, media ethics, professional networking, and the evolving landscape of media and communication. He also visited the Digital Computer Lab and JMS Podcast Studio, and gave an interview to ADUST TV.

The interactive session inspired students to think critically about their future roles in the media industry and encouraged stronger academic and professional engagement through CJEN initiatives.

“আমি কখনও নিরপেক্ষ ছিলাম না। কারণ সময় কখনও নিরপেক্ষ নয়।” ঠিক এভাবেই সমাজে নিজের অবস্থান স্পষ্ট ভাষায় জানিয়েছিলেন ভারতীয় সমান্তরাল চলচ্চিত্র আন্দোলনের অনন্য ব্যক্তিত্ত্ব মৃণাল সেন। তাঁর সৃষ্টিতে সময় পর্দায় অনূদিত হয়েছে। কলকাতার ভাঙাচোরা রাস্তা, মধ্যবিত্তের সুখ-দুঃখ, রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা, ক্ষুধা, বেকারত্ব, মানুষের ভেতরের ভয় ও ভণ্ডামি— সবটাই তাঁর চলচ্চিত্রে বাস্তবতার সাথে মিলেমিশে একাকার হয়ে গেছে।

ফরিদপুরের মাটিতে জন্ম নেওয়া এই গুণী নির্মাতা কখনও ‘কলকাতা ৭১’ (১৯৭২) এর মতো ডকুমেন্টারিতে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন নির্মম বাস্তবতা, কখনও ‘কোরাস’ (১৯৭৪) এর মাধ্যমে সরকার ও সমাজের দিকে তর্জনী নিক্ষেপ করেছেন। আবার কখনো ‘একদিন প্রতিদিন’ (১৯৭৯) এ ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন সমাজে নারীর অবস্থানের টানাপোড়েন। তাঁর চলচ্চিত্রে প্রতিটি ফ্রেমে ছিল প্রশ্নের আনাগোনা, আর উত্তর ছিল ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবেই অসম্পূর্ণ। তাঁর সিনেমার চরিত্ররা নিখুঁত নয়, বরং আমাদের মতোই দ্বিধাগ্রস্ত, ক্লান্ত, রাগী ও অসম্পূর্ণ।

বাংলা চলচ্চিত্রের এই কিংবদন্তির জন্মদিনে অতীশ দীপঙ্কর বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চলচ্চিত্র সংসদ বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধায় তাকে স্মরণ করছে।
