The recent earthquakes showed that our children are not fully prepared for such emergencies.

&_are _indoors
, Cover, and Hold On: Drop to the ground, cover your head and neck, and crawl under a sturdy table or desk. If there is no shelter, move to an inside wall and cover your head and neck with your arms.
on: Hold on to your shelter and stay there until the shaking stops.
in bed: If you are in bed, stay there and cover your head and neck with a pillow unless you are under a heavy light fixture that could fall.

away from: Keep away from windows, glass, and heavy objects that could fall.
not use elevators: Never use elevators during an earthquake.
If you are outdoors
an open space: Move to an open area away from buildings, power lines, streetlights, and trees.
Drop and cover: Drop to the ground and cover your head and neck with your arms until the shaking stops.

in a vehicle
over safely: Move to the side of the road and stop. Avoid stopping under or on overpasses, bridges, or near buildings and power lines.
in the vehicle: Stay in your vehicle with your seatbelt fastened until the shaking stops.

We humbly ask the respective authorities to arrange regular school, house etc. earthuake Safety Training and Practice Drills for all students, including:

• Proper Drop – Cover – Hold steps
• Identifying safe zones inside classrooms
• Calm evacuation after the shaking stops
• Gathering in the designated open assembly area
• Avoiding panic and following teacher instructions

These simple drills can greatly increase student awareness and may save lives during real emergencies.

We hope the school will take this request seriously for the wellbeing of all students.
