9 years have passed since the horrors of 2017, yet more than a million Rohingya remain displaced, waiting for justice, accountability and the chance to return home safely, freely and with dignity.

9 years of pain.
9 years of waiting.
9 years of remembering those we lost.
And one question still echoes in our hearts:
When we can return to our homeland with safety and security?

We remember the victims.
We carry their stories.
We demand justice.
And we will never forget.

We are deeply saddened to hear reports that a boat carrying around 280 Rohingya refugees on its way to Malaysia sank in the Bay of Bengal. It is reported that only 9 people survived, while many others lost their lives. This is a heartbreaking tragedy for our community.

These individuals were not seeking luxury or adventure. They were searching for safety, dignity, and a chance to support their families. The loss of so many lives is a painful reminder of the hardships that many Rohingya continue to face every day.

Many community members are worried that more people may be driven to take such dangerous journeys if living conditions continue to worsen and opportunities to earn a livelihood remain limited.

The loss of approximately 271 Rohingya lives is not just a statisticโ€”it represents mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and children whose dreams ended far too soon. As a community, we should never accept such tragedies as normal.

In our view, issues such as unemployment, limited income opportunities, and the growing impact of gambling are among the factors that contribute to desperation within the community. These challenges deserve urgent attention.

We respectfully call on the relevant authorities, including the Bangladesh Government, to strengthen efforts to address illegal gambling and support initiatives that create safer and more sustainable opportunities for vulnerable communities.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, survivors, and all those affected by this tragedy.

A Rohingya student, Mohammed Anas, shared that we are making this protest to request "Bangladesh Government" to stop gambling and online platforms like 1xBet or take strong action against gamblers. Gambling has become a serious threat to our community, leading to loss of lives, increased dowry demands, child kidnapping, su***de, human trafficking & involvement in various harmful activities.

Through this protest, we aim to raise awareness, protect our people and stand united against these destructive practices.

With the help of some students, we have organized an important protest saying " what do we want? Stop gambling! What do we say? Stop 1Xbet today!" against gambling.
Yeah, gambling leads to so many harmful consequences. Especially, 1xBet is leading our young generations into bad activities and crimes.
So we believe that staying silence is not an option. Together, we must raise our voices and stand against gamblers. We request " Bangladesh Government" to stop 1xbet in the camps.

Gambling & 1xBet is a major problem that is damaging our dignity and society. Today, we have organized a campaign to make protest against gamblers. This 1xBet is destroying our lives, dignity and the future of our innocent people. We can't stay silent anymore, together we must stand up against gamblers, speak out and protect our community, especially our youth.

In the protest, we have invited some students from our community schools ( Refuge Private High School , PCHS-Pioneer Community High School New Life Community High School ). Thanks to the teachers of these schools for taking part in the protest.

Gambling is a serious issue that is destroying our dignity & society.

Dowry, child/early marriage, human trafficking, kidnapping, divorce, su***de, abuse, violations & other unnecessary conflicts are increasing in the Rohingya refugee camps because of gambling/ 1xBet.

To request " Bangladesh Government" to stop 1xBet in the camps, our team members are working, creating posters and writing some important slogans to make a campaign as an awareness.
