Continuous rainfall over the past week has led to widespread waterlogging in the Rohingya camps and surrounding host community areas of Cox’s Bazar. Families are struggling with stagnant water, which increases the risk of waterborne diseases and other hazards. Besides landslides claimed more than 13 lives at different Rohingya Refugee Camps.

In response, COAST Foundation has stepped up emergency actions to protect health and dignity. The team is disseminating urgent awareness messages to guide communities on safety measures during this crisis at Camp-15 and 19. At the same time, efforts are underway to strengthen WASH facilities at Camp-15, ensuring access to clean water and sanitation even under challenging conditions. Hazard assessments are being conducted to identify risks and prepare communities for further impacts.

Through these combined actions, COAST Foundation is working hand in hand with local volunteers, stakeholders and community people to reduce vulnerabilities and build resilience. The focus remains clear: safeguarding lives, preventing disease, and supporting communities to withstand the challenges brought by heavy rains.

Who is burying the death animal, when everybody seems it isn't his/her duty to bury!

Solid Waste volunteers in Camp‑15 show true dedication by safely burying dead animals to prevent disease and odor. Their compassionate action protects public health, restores dignity and keeps the camp environment clean and safe for thousands of residents.
