Muhammad Ayyub al-Arakani (1952–2016) was a distinguished Saudi Quran reciter, Imam, and Islamic scholar of Rohingya origin. Born in Mecca to a family that had migrated from Arakan (Rakhine State, Myanmar), he memorized the Quran at a young age and later earned advanced degrees in Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Madinah.

He served as an Imam of Masjid an-Nabawi from 1990 to 1997 and later as Imam of Masjid Quba. Known for his beautiful and tranquil Quranic recitation, he became one of the most respected reciters in the Muslim world.

Muhammad Ayyub passed away in 2016 in Medina and was buried in Al-Baqi Cemetery. His recitations and scholarship continue to inspire Muslims worldwide.

Bangladesh and Turkey in a bilateral meeting in Dhaka on Friday discussed the Rohingya crisis besides bilateral issues of cooperation in various areas to deepen relations between the two countries.

Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan, addressing a joint press conference in a city hotel after the meeting, said that they supported the ‘safe, voluntary, and dignified return of Rohingyas’ to their homeland Myanmar.

Why do people connect so deeply with the ?

Perhaps it is because true compassion sees no borders. When others looked away, many Turkish people chose to listen, care, and stand beside a suffering community.

Their sincerity is reflected not only in words but also in actions. A helping hand, a warm smile, and a genuine concern for human dignity have left a lasting impression on countless Rohingya families.

Thank you to Hakan Fidan and Mesut Özil for showing that humanity, kindness, and empathy can inspire hope even in the most difficult times. ❤️

Congratulations to Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, on securing the presidency of the 81st UN General Assembly.

I trust that this historic leadership will help keep the Rohingya crisis at the forefront of the international agenda and facilitate the safe, secure repatriation of our Rohingya people to our native land of Arakan, Myanmar. As we all know, Dr. Rahman possesses the deep experience and capacity required to address the Rohingya refugee crisis.

During his time in the previous interim government of Bangladesh, he took on historic responsibilities regarding this issue and launched several great initiatives. We are hopeful that he will carry this momentum forward during his presidency.

We express our deepest gratitude for his historic achievement and dedication. At this critical juncture, Bangladesh's national policy remains key to solving the Rohingya refugee crisis.
