Summing Up his 35 Minutes of Sarcasm!
No more long lines at government offices, everything is online now, so bribery might finally come to an end. Our economy has been revived by migrant workers, and for the first time, the government is actually acknowledging their contribution. We controlled prices and ensured electricity during Ramadan. Apparently, food prices dropped, and no one faced power cuts on the 25th night of Ramadan.
The whole world wants to help Bangladesh. Even industrialized nations are eager to invest here. UAE’s visa restrictions will soon be lifted—their government has agreed, and they also want to invest in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is on its way to joining ASEAN, which will boost diplomatic ties and strengthen the economy. Workers can now go to Malaysia hassle-free—all issues have been resolved, and the process is now smooth.
China is offering tech, medical, and solar power support, so maybe we won’t have to depend on India for these anymore. Talks are underway to import hydropower from Nepal, meaning we might finally be less dependent on India. Bangladeshi products will dominate the global market, while foreign goods will enter Bangladesh, benefiting farmers and creating jobs. To fight corruption, all government services are moving online—no more running around offices or paying bribes. Land-related work will be digital, so no more huge bribes or harassment when dealing with property.
The National Revenue Board is being dismantled, meaning big businesses will no longer be able to evade taxes so easily. You won’t need to visit a police station to file a complaint—you can do it online from home. All women’s complaint centers will now be staffed by women, so women can report issues more freely. The government is committed to gender equality, and this could be the biggest reform in our history.
Migrant workers will no longer be harassed. Airfare is now 75% cheaper, thanks to online ticketing, cutting out middlemen. A special mobile app for Hajj pilgrims is launching—it will track luggage, offer medical help, provide historical info in Bangla, and ensure a safe journey. Starlink is coming, meaning no government will be able to block access to information anymore.
Job creation for youth is a priority. Even passports will now be delivered to homes, making it easier to travel abroad. The UN will help tackle misinformation, though relying on foreign powers for this might have its downsides. War criminals will be brought to justice. Corrupt elites are losing their illegal assets, and stolen money is being recovered.
A “July Charter” is coming it will list all proposed reforms so people can see which political parties truly care about the country. A DNA testing lab is being set up, making it easier to identify criminals quickly. Inflation is dropping, and remittances are at an all-time high. Even embassies are being pushed to speed up their work.
And finally, Professor Yunus, you are beyond what we ever imagined. A brilliant, patriotic leader. If we could just set aside our differences and support people like you, maybe Bangladesh would become a developed country sooner than we think. But still, the political criminals undermine him, trying to confuse the people of Bangladesh, just to secure their power and keep their bank balances flowing.
