Lifestyle of Rohingya Myanmar Time Vs Refugee Camp Time

Rohingya Community

12/04/2026

All Rohingya Art Club members gathered together inside the camp for a special picnic.

It was a joyful day filled with creativity, fun, and laughter. We shared different ideas about art, storytelling, and ways to preserve our Rohingya culture through creative expression. Everyone contributed their thoughts, inspiring each other and strengthening our bond as a team, making the day truly meaningful and memorable.

Finally, the mural is complete after two days of intense dedication and exhausting hard work by our team members. It was not easy. We worked under the sun, through deep fatigue, and with very limited resources, but we did not stop.

This mural is about hope, resilience, and a deep desire for freedom. It reflects our real lives inside the refugee camp. We want to breathe under an open sky, not inside barbed wire fences, like birds trapped in a cage. We want to return to our homeland with full rights, safety, and dignity.

We are trapped not because we chose this life, but because we were left helpless.
Still, we survive. Still, we dream. And through this mural, we speak. When our words are ignored, art becomes our voice.

The mural is located on the wall of the Camp 9 CiC Office near the Turkish Hospital.
This mural was created in collaboration with our partners Rohingyatographer, standing together to tell our story and keep hope alive through art.
