Today, we joyfully inaugurated the Multipurpose Women Center (MPWC) at Rajapalong Union, Ukhiya — a meaningful step forward in empowering women and fostering inclusive community development. This center has been established by RW Welfare Society (RWWS) in partnership with UN Women Bangladesh, with generous support from SIDA and the Government of Japan.

The event was graced by community women, adolescents, RWWS team members, our esteemed Advisors Ms. Razia Sultana and Ms. Munia Sultana, along with our Executive Director Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizam Uddin.

Together, we celebrate this new beginning and remain committed to building resilient, inclusive communities where every woman can thrive.

“Conflict can divide communities, but unity has the power to prevent it. When people stand together, support one another, and respect each other, peace becomes possible.” said Sumaiya Akter during our 2-Day Workshop on Literacy, Numeracy & Peacebuilding.

Through group dialogue and shared learning, Sumaiya reflected on how unity can act as a shield — bringing people together before conflict can divide them.

Her insight reminds us that peacebuilding isn't just about solving problems, but about strengthening relationships and building trust before problems arise.

Thank you, Sumaiya, for seeing peace not only as a goal — but as a shared way of living. 🤝

🎉 Day 7 – Another Milestone: Vegetable Baskets Completed! 🎉

With dedication in their hands and pride in their hearts, the participants of our Women’s Economic Empowerment Bamboo Craft Training have now successfully completed their second product — the Vegetable Basket! 🧺🥦🌿

What began just a few days ago as raw bamboo has now transformed into a beautiful, functional craft, made entirely by the participants themselves. Each basket is a symbol of growth — not just in skill, but in confidence, creativity, and capability.

📸 Here’s a look at Day 7 — full of smiles, success, and beautifully woven baskets!

🌿 Day 6: A New Beginning and a Powerful Visit 🌿

Today wasn’t just another training day — it was a day filled with renewed energy, inspiration, and heartfelt encouragement.

After completing their first bamboo creation — the traditional Lai — our participants stepped confidently into the next chapter of their journey: crafting a Vegetable Basket. 🧺🥬
With every cut, weave, and knot, they are learning not just a skill, but building their path to independence and pride.

But what made today truly special was the presence of those who believe in this journey.

✨ Ms. Pahima Ahmed, Representative from GNWP
✨ Ms. Razia Sultana, Founder of RWWS
✨ Md. Alamgir Sikder, Senior Project Manager, RWWS
✨ Ms. Nafiza Iqbal, Livelihood Officer, RWWS

Their visit brought joy, encouragement, and validation to the Young Women Leaders, trainer Shamsun Nahar, and all 10 participants. They listened, they observed, and most importantly — they reminded each woman that her journey is meaningful and supported. 💫

📸 Dive into today’s moments — where skills met support, and progress met purpose.

Razia Sultana, UN Women Civil Society Advisory Group member and Founder of Rights of Women Welfare Society, reminds us that asking for rights is not seeking sympathy — it’s claiming what is deserved. True progress begins with equal presence of women.
