Today, OGRO Foundation participated in a preparatory meeting at the Feni Deputy Commissioner's Office to discuss the upcoming National Youth Day celebration on 1 November, representing the voices and aspirations of young people.

As part of our commitment to youth empowerment and development, we continue to work collaboratively with the local administration to create meaningful opportunities for young people and contribute to a more inclusive and empowered youth community.

Together, we believe in the power of youth to drive positive change and build a better future.

Recently, OGRO Foundation participated in a workshop titled “Climate Change Negotiation,” organized by the Department of Environment of the Government of Bangladesh, BYLC, and ASDF.

The workshop provided OGRO Foundation with an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the international climate change framework, the structures and functions of relevant organizations, the COP process, negotiation procedures, climate-related institutions, committees and bodies, key agendas, and Bangladesh’s negotiation positions in the context of climate change. Representatives from OGRO Foundation also had the opportunity to engage in discussions and raise questions on these important issues.

This experience has strengthened OGRO Foundation’s knowledge base and resources for its climate change initiatives. The participation of members from both Feni and Dhaka also reflects the Foundation’s commitment to engaging in climate policy discussions and contributing to climate change policymaking in Bangladesh.

Last June, OGRO Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amra Notun Network under the BRAC Youth Platform. Through this partnership, OGRO Foundation is supporting the implementation of a three-month Changemakers Program in Feni.

This collaboration reflects our commitment to youth development and empowerment. We are pleased to contribute to this initiative and support young people in developing their potential, strengthening their leadership skills, and creating positive change in their communities.

Today, an article by our Founder, Abdullah Al Abid, was published in a popular local newspaper, focusing on climate change and Feni’s position in policymaking as a coastal district. The article discusses Feni’s underrepresentation in COP and various national policy-making forums and highlights the need for greater attention to the climate challenges faced by the district.
